Before reading, please keep in mind that "Get a team" is irrelevant to a topic that's focused on Freelance.
Coming from a Titan who plays Crucible more than anything else, I feel like the best solution for a gametype in which you can both gain and lose progress based on how well not only you do, but your teammates as well, is individual progress.
- Freelance playlists should come with freelance progression. I don't feel like my progress should be hindered by the other freelance who runs out, wastes the lives of my team, and does 0.3 k/da.
- Perhaps a small boost for victory?
At any rate, the worst game mode for this is Survival. I understand it's to be taken away and Elimination in its place, but it's still rough.
Limited-life game modes aren't fit for solo-queue PvP.
It's fault-heavy on the individual, and no matter how much one may preach the "work together" mindset, it simply does not work for those who don't bring mics, stick together, and waste lives.
I've got the pinnacles, I've seen the ranks, and I'm telling you it's a sour system.

If you do well in Freelance, but your team loses, you lose less Glory than if your team loses and you do poorly. I've seen people lose as little as 10 Glory. The system is also supposed to get you to the Glory rating at which you skill is appropriate for. If you're a Brave level player, you might not get out of Brave for a while. If you're a Legend rank player, you'll probably be Legend in a day or so. That's my interpretation of it anyway.
