Players paid good money for a complete game. Let them have it.

No, Sony paid to develop the game. they get the right to control what they paid for. Just like how Microsoft paid for the development of Halo.

First, Sony made this choice for the sake of marketing, not the development of the game. This game is already backed by Activision Blizzard who also make games like WoW, Overwatch, Candy Crush, so backing is basically a non-issue. Second, Halo was a first party Xbox exclusive published by Microsoft themselves. Modern Warfare on the other hand is a multiplatform third party game, promoting crossplay as one of it’s main features. Huge difference there. Third, I’ll give you that prior to this gen, it was Xbox getting the exclusivity deals, but even then it’s still crap & anti-consumer. It doesn’t matter who does it because at the end of the day a large portion of the playerbase is getting screwed over regardless. You know what, I wouldn’t have cared nearly as much if it was a week or even a month for survival or a multiplayer map because in the grand scheme of things it wouldn’t matter. But when you lock a MAJOR game feature in a game that’s part of an annual franchise for it’s lifecycle & during its prime, you cross way over the line.
