Can we get exotic armor quests?

Yes, I want exotic armor quests

270

Maybe, but I have a few suggestions/tweaks

No, this is not a good idea

This is gonna sound kind of crazy, but what if along with exotic weapon quests of course, we had exotic armor quests? Of course, there would have to be an about even amount of quests for each class, but this could be a cool concept I thought.

  • I mean, yes, but... exotic quests as they stand right now just feel like shopping lists, other than the thing your getting and the lore attached to that thing, its just this is 99% of the exotic quests when I see an exootic quest drop, its like cool, YES [air punch] step 1 kills x things [ok then,, lets go] step 2 collect x things [ah, ok, yeah] step 3 do this activity [heavy sigh] step 4 kill more things with a specific damage or weapon type. [how many kills? wow] step 5 you got the thing [finally, sigh. Thank jebus I never need to do that shit again] step 6 put it in your vault The exceptions to this have been the cool ones like TLW, OP, Whisper, Bad Juju. The ones that ripped my but hole were wish ender, malfeasance and the chaperone. I felt like I got mugged when I put my token in the statue. Then went straight to the internet to find out what to do next. Kinda sucked out the fun, but this was overly complicated, and more relief that I completed the level, cause I never need to do that again. My friend felt the same way.

    • I wouldn't mind that, too much of the exotic armor is just straight rng and xur.

    • The thing is, the reason exotic weapon quests work is because they have fixed rolls. I mean, it [i]could[/i] work like redrix’s broadsword, but I digress.

Imagine it. An exotic quest that gives Hunters back a blink exotic, titans Twilight garrison and Warlocks get radiance back. (No self rez tho probably.) I'm in.

      • As long as the quest does not require me to do the raids or pvp, i support the idea of doing an exotic armor quest. Otherwise, no.

      • That’ll never happen that would mean three different pieces one for each class. That sounds like a lot of work for someone.

        • Tandem armor/weapon exotics would be cool. Make the weapon a bit more powerful than others but at the cost of having a beneficial (other than to the weapon) exotic armor perk. Some already kind of work together like Actium and Sweet Business. But I mean very specific 1 to 1 limitation. But PvP balance is a thing, so probably not going to fly anyways.

            • Only if its not forcing artificial difficulty in my face via Group Dungeon. Accessible by all playstyles then yes.

            • Nah. Not if it takes away from an exotic weapon quest.

Given how lackluster the exotic armor has all been I would say neh. If you made a quest as difficult as say Zero, then the reward would have to be on par with OP which means it’s an exotic that would probably never come off because it would have to be that legit. Remember when Whisper was used for everything for like a year? That’s what it would be like with a piece of armor too. All you would hear is “we can’t run any other exotic armor or we will be at a disadvantage” from the crowd that hasn’t figured out you don’t have to run the meta 24/7 for every little thing...

              • If we were getting a steady stream of content, then this would be a more viable suggestion. But the fact that we have 3 classes, 9 subclasses, 27 subclass paths, and 4 (5 really) pieces of armor; it would be hard to design a universally meaningful quest. Not to mention, the piece would then have to be good.

              • I like this idea, but it presents a few problems. If they're going to make them specific to certain armor, players who only play 1 class would be locked out of 2/3 of this content. It wouldn't be worth making if too many players never bother. They could have the same quest on different classes that just gives different armor, but then they couldn't tie any lore to them. I think the best way I can see this working is with exotics like Crest of Alpha Lupi from Destiny 1. All 3 classes had a variant of it, so it would work well in the form of a quest.

                • If they didn't make the IB armor quest the way it was i would been ok with the idea, but the IB quest had to toned down so no, no armor quest.
