Is solstice of heroes fun?
In my belief it’s not fun it’s terrible and it’s nothing but a chore and it hurts my brain.

For about a week... Then I was done... I like the gamemode, but its not something I could binge without a suitable reward at the end... Give us a stronger version with like weapons or something and make the orb abilities pop earlier.

3 RepliesHonestly it's not as bad as people have made it out to be. It's going to take me about 3 afternoons to knock it out. The 50 bounties weren't nearly as bad as I thought, the orbs basically collect themselves as you play. I have the EAZ stuff to do still, but with the requirement scale back it shouldn't take more than 15 or so runs. The only really annoying thing for me is the 200 hunter void grenade kills. Really I feel like most of the people on here who are upset just don't know how to pace themselves. Don't try to grind it all in a day. That's not how it was intended to be done. I will say I only intend to get the hunter set. I don't feel the need to get all three. Why do I need that sparrow? I really don't. Plus, my other characters only exist for raid completions so I have 3 chances a week at those pesky exotics. I'll only ever care about their gear if content actually gets difficult and min maxing is essential. They can look like hobos for all I care. They'll eventually get that Shadowkeep raid set and look good. Until the next season begins.

I'm one of the few who was able to get all 3 sets- I still had work and school. It was fun to look forward to something logging in- not to mention the materials and stuff I got back.

The EAZ is one of the best maps and funnest areas in the game. BUT, the mechanics and grind for the armor was pure nonsense hell and locking the glows behind eververse was just plain shitty. So no, it was not enjoyable or fun. I much preferred last year's solstice.

I wouldn't mind it half as much if i wasn't forced into the shitty version of gambit 10 times, 30 if your like me and wanna kill yourself and get that stupid sparrow that isnt even an exotic sparrow......

I’m finishing up Bounties on my Titan and then I’ll have all 3. Took me a total of 3 weeks to complete so the point of it being a month-long event hit the nail on the head. As far as the fun factor, I liked the EAZ, but the rest of the grind was just that: a grind. Which I get is part of it, but the event itself is pretty lackluster. Better rewards this year, a better activity than just replaying old missions, but it’s not the best. Altogether, I do appreciate the EAZ and the new armor the most though! Looks great!

I did it with my Warlock, because I took two month pause and wanted that gala uniform and had 6000 dust laying around. It's a terrible grind though.

I have over 1000 keys and have no wish to go into the event. They just keep building up. The grind of the event made me not want to play anymore.

It's just ok. The armour takes too long to do (maybe if it wasn't times to this event only) and the EAZ is a bit of fun. Not terrible or a blast.

SoH is way to grindy for the payout. I enjoy grinding if the activities are fun and their is a decent payoff. A legendary sparrow from D1 and cool looking armor that will be pointless in 6 weeks.... Kind of weak.

5 RepliesThey should be giving out solstice boxes for everything you do and not just EAZ stuff. I currently have 2k keys and nothing to use them on, and the EAZ is kinda boring.

solstice armour looks good when fully done. the tasks to do that require playing content i dont want to, to make them glowy. i cant remember the needs for them, since i just stored them in vault; but if something requires me to raid, i dont bother, nightfall i dont bother. those arent fun mainly because of the one dies all die mechanic and the attitudes of many people on raid. nightfall is because it ruins all strikes because people seem to become used to speed running strikes and i dont enjoy that. i want to PLAY the strike, not skip through the mobs to get to the boss asap. im not doing something for speed. im not doing something that requires use of mics. i see no need to do activities which allow obnoxious people to abuse me in my own home over the net, simply because im not totally perfect on a first time through a raid while learning A GAME. its supposed to be enjoyable. fun. so if those are part of the quests for the solstice armours... pls dont make the map quest thing flash at me. not interested in a grind through activities i dont and cannot ever enjoy due to others. when i have to do pvp for a quest i do rumble only as long as i have to. if a quest needs control or something again i wont bother. so those reasons are why i dont bother with solstice. i liked the EDZ aerial zone, though the timed chest hunt isnt fun for me. too much 'not much fun' and 'too long a grind' when i still have cores to grind for the power climb. the time just isnt there to invest.

When I worked on the green gear I actually had fun doing so, and enjoyed going to EAZ.. But boyyyyy when that armor turned blue I was going to let it stay blue. It’s like Bungie blindfolded themselves spun around and picked a bunch of random bullsh*t for us to do. If it wasn’t for us having a month to do it, I wouldn’t have done it. I took my time to avoid burning myself out. Of course I think obtaining the gear should be challenging, but don’t suck the fun out of what suppose to be a “celebration”. Doing this made Gambit bad, heroic events bad, and EP bad because you had people not finishing things. Which left others either having to put in more work or not being able to complete other tasks outside of Solstice. Then you want me to pay for my glow? I know you guys need the money for this and that but.. But after all that grinding that glow is well deserved and should be free. Yeah yeah, use bright dust.. I used it on my scooty pooty ain’t no bright dust left!!!! LOL!

I wanted to grind all 3 sets, but...HELL NO! 60 gambit matches in total would've melted my brain. And all for a reskinned mediocre sparrow!? No thanks.
