I've had a soft spot for the Halfdan-d since Y1, I believe I still have a 12k kills Halfdan in my bank from CoO when they introduced masterworks... it sucked but I used it in strikes and took advantage of Armor Piercing rounds to do more damage. So here's the deal, and its bugged me for a while: I've not been able to use it in crucible. Not because of DPS, and not due to amount of recoil. I know this because of 2 exhibits: Age Old Bond and Gahlran's Right Hand. Age Old Bond (AOB) has more shakey recoil, and it should mean it's worse in crucible, but I've had no problems at taking people out, even at pulse rifle range! Meanwhile, I constantly miss easy shots with the Halfdan-d. I've kept quiet for some time about it, since I figured I had a bad roll, but I've since then got Steady Rounds, stability Masterworks, moving target, and nothing seems to improve it. So I jotted it down to it being a kinetic. And that's where Gahlran's came in. I hit a decent roll on Gahlran's, and I've had no issues hitting people. And I've been mopping the floor against pulses despite having lower range than my Halfdan-d. Its recoil direction and aik assistance is worse or the same, so it shouldn't be this night and day thing and yet it is. Statistical differences happen all the time in destiny, and I understand most people will be like "well it just sucks" but if you want me to be honest? I believe that when all these changes were made to the weapon frame, they never tweaked all the recoil and hit detection on it... so it's been broken since Y1. All Y2 High Impact Autos feel amazing, so why can't my baby for Y1 be fixed in time for Y3. P.S. If you do look at it for me, can you make its recoil even MORE. This isn't even a joke, if you made it recoil more, and have a perfect vertical recoil, I would Absolutely love it, and I mean it. It's the only AR frame with a decent amount of recoil, so if you made it kick more but more predictable, I'd still be able to use it and abuse it.
So from my own experience, the Problem I had with Halfdan was the sights on it. Most of the rolls I got in Y2 have had bad sights but decent stability. There may be some validity to that the gun has problems with Hit registration. Have you also tried using other Hakkë based weapons like the New Monarchy Auto from CoO (I think it was CoO)? If your having hit registration problems still, it could just be those particular weapons
