It's a bounty for a boon to the triumph hall, which let's you have a discount for the cost of triumphs.

This whole event was designed to take materials away from players before shadowkeep, which bungie shamelessly admits saying "we thought players would like to have something to spend their hoard of materials on".....ahhh great idea.

Ok? It really doesn't cost much for players, unless their impatient. I've bought enough to get the 18 for the Juju quest. I think it's a cute idea, and I like just getting to inspect the enemy simulations and appreciate their design. Without having to quickly put rounds through their heads during the regular game loop.

Edited by iCosmicHigh: 7/19/2019 8:41:54 PMOkay? Talking about simulations now I guess. Yeah, super cool you can get ammo and super and test damage and do tdtuff and spend resources that you may or may not have while being nearly required to login daily to get discounts to afford the stuff other people outright buy and to top it all off wasting all their time on bounties to get discounts to afford the stuff that they cant afford cause they cant sit on this video game but maybe 2 hours a day, so the people with unhealthy obsessions with a video game are able to ignore said bounties and continue spending all their time on this game without worry of bounties taking up valuable time because their time isnt valuable. In short, the people with less time to play are forced to do bounties each day to stay in the running with the players who spend 8 hours a day on d2. So the people short on time have to do bounties instead of playing whatever activity they wanted to play or needed to play for triumphs. Which theres a time limited set of triumphs going on right now. Not much shorter I guess.

Breath. It's just some extra fun stuff in the game, and it isn't going away like MOT. So you don't have to rush anything to get the 80 boon discount.
