I'd speculate that Eris Morne is either completely unaware and willingly taking the blame for something she doesn't understand (most likely), or complicit in what's happening and acting as innocent bait. She probably has nothing explicitly to do with it, as I suspect that it is in fact Quria using her Vex capabilities (and speculated self-awareness) to assume control over the Black Garden and is using the "darkness" as an augmentation to simulate the "Nightmare" enemies in real-time. Quria will probably be the Raid-Boss in Shadowkeep, or maybe the Black Heart returns in a more "definitive" form since the Black Garden is returning. Of which somewhere in the lore it says the original gate to the Black Garden was destroyed by the Red Legion when they swept in. The first season afterwords will likely be Quria if she hasn't shown up already, as it is Vex themed. Then the seasons afterwords with unfurl the Calus-vs-Savathun story arch that's been building up. I'd also speculate that in Destiny3, should the rumours be true of "Darkness Powers", that they are granted by Nokris/Xol. Of whom are heavily speculated to still be alive through unexplored ascendant-realms. Perhaps Nokris/Xol acquire the power of the "Taken" after Savathun is dealt with? This would also give lore context as to how game mechanics still make sense through their Necromancy, granted Ghost doesn't stay around via being corrupted itself. Perhaps Calus makes Nokris his "Hive Shadow" since a potentially mutual enemy (in Savathun) and him seemingly rejecting the same Sword-Logic that Calus mocks. Calus already has 2 contradictory lines in fact. One of him telling you to stick to the Light since you're good at it... the other of him postulating if he can tempt you into "dancing with the dark". Whatever happens in Shadowkeep and the following seasonal releases is going to directly implicate the events of Destiny3.

  • <Savathûn and Nokris are more likely working together. Savathûn accepted his broods invitation to talk.>

Nokris' brood was desperate to survive after Nokris/Xol were considered dead and most likely knew Savathun was around via Titan. The brood was (as I remember) "begging" Savathun to take their power. Of which there is also an "Adventure" where Savathun's Brood on Titan is specifically messing around with Necromancy before the events of Warmind and Nokris/Xols awakening. So Savathun was messing around with Heresy after Oryx was killed because of her burning desire not to die to a 20/20 hindsight mistake. At the very least Nokris would understand that she is going to manipulate him and toss him aside if she can't functionally enslave him. As seen with Quria being given to her by Oryx and how she planned to deal with Calus, she is exceptionally careful of surrounding herself with anyone that has "Free Will" and not completely subservient. Riven and Quria have longterm uses despite their "Freedom". Nokris... short-term gains at the most because of his necromantic knowledge. But he is a vast liability since he is direct competition whom is magically adept and blessed by a Worm God. I didn't necessarily mean that Nokris would directly oppose her in a naive attempt at open-war, but implied some backstabbery or underhanded nature to a feud. -We already know Calus is going to butt-heads with Savathun -We know Savathun is desperate to ultimately survive but also paranoid and scheming -We know Calus is looking for a new Hive Shadow. -We know Savathun was already messing around with Necromancy after Oryx died and before Nokris came into the picture. -We have reason to believe Nokris is still alive and rejects the standard dogma of the Hive -We have no actual idea what Nokris' goals are... provided Bungo actually didn't just toss him in there as a "villain of the week" despite his lineage, lore, and capabilities -We know Calus still has Hive "under his command" despite Gahlran becoming a dead traitor -These hive largely make use of "teleportation" which Nokris' Brood makes extensive use of, in contrast to even what's shown of Savathun's Brood using more traditional methods For all we know... Shadowkeep could instead be Xivu Arath who has been previously poking around with the Taken in the Dreaming City. A fortress definitely fits the "Knight" style of Xivu more than it does the scheming Witch Savathun. This could also explain the Hive's red colouration as this has never been seen before from any brood currently ingame. Quria could have been given to Xivu (to misuse) and unwittingly act as bait while Savathun prepares to confront Calus while we're preoccupied with nonsense on the moon.

  • <Balwur and Dul Incaru, both daughters of Savathun, have red somewhere on their person. Incaru has the red cape and robes while Balwur is completely red in design. Not to mention that many of the Moon's Hive markings and aesthetic fits the Hidden Swarm from D1, almost to the letter. The 'hidden" portion of their names suggest something not Xivu. Calus, while obviously important enough to Savathun to try to take out, isn't the biggest threat in the system to her.>

  • Although I concede to Dul Incaru, it could also be a stylistic thing as there is subtle variation in alot of high-ranking Hive. Granted this could cut both ways as the variation could in fact be the rest of her outfit being stylistically different. Balwur however is definetly more of a red-red and less of a noticeable but dull crimson. Calus, however, is obviously something that should be dealt with sooner rather than later. He is more likely to swoop in and help the Guardian if ignored, which is probably what the plan was with Gahlran letting the Hive invade the Leviathan. However that plan was basically foiled as soon as it started and Calus' omniscience keeps the Hive he has under to be harmless sport. These hive are also most likely Savathun's and bare no red colouration, and red appears to simply be a colour of rank (similar to the colour purple was in ancient times) given multiple high-ranking hive use it in some form. <I too can put these symols before and after my comment, gue'vesa.>

  • <The difference between the Hidden Swarm and the Hive that were brought to/bred on Titan is age. The HS have been here since Crota, and it was long thought that Oryx had more than one brood under his command outside the Blood of Oryx. The SoC and BoO starved or are starving but the HS seem to be rising to the top... why? Unless Calus starts moving the Leviathan or sending out Councilors to fight outside it, we have nothing to worry about.>

  • % If Quria can take then theres no point in making glorified zombies. Quria has already shown she can take dead enemies from the past (i.e "The Whisper" mission). I doubt she's behind these new nightmare enemies. The taken are literally enemies drowned in darkness. These nightmare enemies will probably have some new abilities, but no point in wasting resources in making zombies when you can just take them. %

Then there is no reason for non-hive enemies to even be involved in Shadowkeep if they aren't being "simulated". None. Skolas, Taniks, Ghaul, the Vex... No reason. Unless it's an order from Savathun who's just trying to mess with your head because she knows that she will lose in any sort of actual engagement without a severe upper-hand. Or Savathun herself using her super speshul magics to invade your memory and throw rehashed enemies at you for the same psychological reason. Quria would probably still show up in the Vex-themed season, if she's not outright the main raid for Shadowkeep. If ErisMorn is actually, legitimately involved, and not just taking the blame because she was at the right place at the right time... it's from a point of malice, not accident. Otherwise it would be an incredible and ridiculous level of fanfiction-tier stuff that admittedly Bungie has been straying further and further into since Forsaken.
Mara "Little-Tzeentch" Sov with her 87-dimensional chinese checkers is probably going to show up in a season and have you kill the Emperor for no actual reason.
