Ive always wondering if there are some drama between the word differences. Like Colours or Colors.
English

Why would it bother anyone, it is just different spellings of the same word.
-
I’m not native English, but the “ou” bothers me sometimes but otherwise I don’t care
-
Eh. It's just differences in language. Honestly, I prefer some of the European spellings, like theatre and grey.
-
I've seen some British people pretend to get mad about it, but I'm pretty sure it's just a joke.
-
It's just europeans being weird. What's weirder is that they also call. "Z" "zed". Now that is odd to hear as an American.
-
I spell it "armor", but I could care less.
-
No. I use armour, colour etc ... What bothers me is "would of" instead of "would have." That really annoys me a lot more than it should.
-
Armor doesn’t bother me. Armour makes my eyes glow red with rage
-
It only bugs me if you’re inconsistent. As long as you stick with one or the other I’m fine.
-
Color...colour... Horseriding....horseback riding As a norwegian, it doesnt really matter to me tbh. From what ive seen/heard, we speak a mix of british and american english more often than not.
-
Lmao imagine being European smh
-
I like to write it the British way because it feels more refined, plus I think it looks better
-
Cuz 'MURICA
-
That doesn't bother me as much as something like this:
Ive always wondering
-
Armour looks nicer on paper
-
Makes no difference to me, it's just the way how people write. Plus, I preferred colour and armour, even if it is the wrong way to spell it.

Dang canooks

Unfortunately, I do this quite often. I was born ( and grew up ) on a British colony, in the British Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean, but ‘our’ close proximity to America meant that by the time I was born, my small island had been inundated with an over saturation of American culture ( heck, our currency was the US $ ). My Education taught me to spell things one way ( the British way ), however most of the printed/written media that I consume tells me to spell things the American way. I suppose it doesn’t help that I don’t really give a -blam!-. I suppose it doesn’t help that my iPad and my Laptop are set up with American English as the default, and my phone is set up with a British English as default, so depending on what platform I use to post, my autocorrect gives me inconsistent results.

Edited by weirdboy99: 6/24/2019 1:21:40 PMThe English just like the letter U more than Americans. But then again what would you expect from those loonies who write the date in the wrong order. Yes today it is 24-06-2019 not 06-24-2019.
-
Why would it? They’re both correct
-
I’m not 100% sure of this, but I’m pretty sure the reason the American spelling of a lot of English words doesn’t have the letter “U” is because it was cheaper to print in Newspapers.
-
Nope it doesn't.
-
Nope.
-
I’m European, so I use whatever I want. My English education was more focused on British English at first, then American, but later turned into “do whatever you want as long as it’s grammatically correct”, so that’s what I’m doing. I also like to mix every kind of English slang that I know.

Does it make me mad? no Is it fun to pick at Euros and Canucks for using it on a US based website? sometimes
