Listen I know everyone who replied here saying it’s fine thinks it will be fine. This game was tailored for you. However the op’s concerns are NOT wrong. He is very very right. His concerns are one of the very things that ran people off in droves and droves. It makes sense that most that are left here love this game now. But if Bungie hopes to bring in new blood and more importantly new capital they had better start really listening. And not just saying they are. And don’t be naive kids bungie needs new money....and if they want to get and keep new people and not run them like they did.........then sorry enhancement chores have to be changed. Because the average gamer wants nothing to do with them. I used to love this game. I spent thousands of hours and d1 a few hundred in d2. The game in its current state is not good. So what am I doing here. One word. Hope. And for goodness sakes don’t tear someone apart because they bring up a concern that you don’t agree with.......it doesn’t make you a very nice human.

  • I mean you have to realise that what you’re saying is simply just an opinion and not a fact right? Other people’s opinions will differ from yours. In my opinion, D2 is currently in a better state than any time of its 2 year life cycle so far. I would never recommend any of my friends to buy the game before. Now however, I certainly would. I actually have 3 friends picking up New Light on release day and I can guarantee at least 2 of the 3 will stick around and buy expansions/DLC. I can also guarantee that none of the 3 will complain about an easy asf to work out in game economy. All comes down to opinions

  • Well fact is destiny population has and is declining so badly that the publisher bailed on the last 3 years of their contract. And yes it is opinion and there will likely be more here that support yours than mine because the ones that support mine already departed.

  • I don’t really check the numbers so I don’t know if it’s declining weekly or not. I’ve just seen a couple articles that said it’s back above 1 million weekly players since opulence. Which for a game that’s nearly 3 years old, I don’t think is a poor number at all really. Could it be better? Yeah for sure. But every change that bungie name is going to leave some portion of the playerbase unhappy and maybe leave. Whether that be the casual, the hardcore, the mmo fans, the shooter fans, the RPG fans, the PvP, PvE. Lots of different types of people play this game and it’s very hard to try to cater to all of their tastes while keeping them all happy. Like you said yourself, everyone’s opinion is different. I just hope that come September, going free to play turns out to be a good move and bungie makes the most of it and really pulls out all the stops to try and grab those new players to pull them in and get them to stay. This game leaves ALOT to be desired, it could be so much better...yet somehow it’s still one of my favourite games of all time.

The problem is they left a MASSIVE portion. Don’t mistake me I was someone who LOVED destiny. And wants to love it again. I loved the game they started to build what they said they were building. They literally are no where near where they said they would go. Bungie has made d2 a redundant reskin to put it as simply as can. It has become a pointless rinse repeat. It started by destroying all my gear that they said I would have for the next 10 years. And that’s just one of their BS’s. All the while I have Luke Smith’s smug as.. telling me I would throw money at the screen. No sorry not for me and many many others. But hey honestly go you glad you like it.

  • The enhancement core problem has been “fixed”, but you’re right, when players feel like their freedom of choice is in any way compromised they are going to have a negative experience, and that’s never a good thing.

I will have to respectfully disagree it’s not fixed. Because they are still there. Let me give you an example. In the beginning you had to have legendary shards/energy to upgrade your gear. Including planetary material. Almost exactly how it is now. No one liked it, it was a drag a chore and time consuming. So Bungie actually listened. Told players that they respected their time and removed them. And people had their gear and got to keep the stuff they had wanted and were happy. Being a veteran player has some advantages like.....remembering. And now here we are 5 years later 10 steps back to square 1. Now I know hard core players don’t mind the extra step they have millions of things on hand so they don’t look like a space hobo every new step of the way. However new players do not players that can’t be bothered grinding yet another planetary material. It’s not fun it’s just not. If these things were just to master work as they were originally intended it would be fine. If not Bungie will continue to deflate the player base. Which was what the original poster was saying. Anyways honestly Bungie doesn’t listen to anyone but Bungie or one of its puppet performers so shrugs is what it is

That’s what “fixed” in quotations kinda means though, so we actually agree. I don’t literally think the problem is fixed. Otherwise I wouldn’t use the quotes.
