Bloom is fine. Without it handcannons would have 99.9% accuracy, which isn't realistic. They are pistols, not railguns with auto-aim. No one hits 100% of their shots, so it helps. Could you imagine Not Forgotten being more of an easy-win button than it already is? Like someone esle noted, that was the D1 meta and it was terrible.

    On paper it sounds great. On delivery its flawed. Bloom is supposed to keep people from spam firing. I understand that completely. But even perfectly aimed, paced shots still. It has been tested multiple times. So if I'm in a hand cannon duel and im pacing my shots but some other guy just sprays and prays, and I get a missed shot or 2 but the other guy some how has most of those shots connect i lose the fight. That's not how it's supposed to be. That's an rng based duel. So if your shots can just randomly miss anyway what's the point in pacing them? Let's not compare a game about space magic and other sci-fi fantasy stuff. We can pull fireballs out of our asses, pull stuff out of the void yet our weapons must have some realism. Battlefield is one of the most realistic fps games yet theres practically no issues with their pistols. They don't just randomly miss. Whatever I shot at usually went down. Bungie really needs to let the players rent out pvp servers and make their own rules. If people don't want to see hand cannons then they can go to this server. If you use one you get kicked. Rent a servers would solve 99% of most of the pvp problems.

  • I know I was just saying. Some people hate hand cannons with a passion and they want them nerfed into the ground. There are weapons I'm not too fond of but I don't want them nerfed unless they need to be to bring them in balance. Maybe bloom doesn't have to be removed but adjusted. Maybe the problem isn't bloom. Maybe it's recoil. PC does have bloom despite what people think. The cone might not be as wide and the recoil is perfect.

  • Bloom is what keeps hand cannons in check. Without it they become hyper accurate and outperform every weapon in pvp. Pc is proof of this, where hand cannons have been the meta ever since forsaken.

  • have you ever shot a gun in your life? if my gun would show "bloom" i would simply throw it away. you rig in a handgun and shoot it 100 times you can expect the bullets to hit within a 3cm radius. on a target 25 meters away. thats reality.. a fixed and rigged handgun that misses its shots due to bloom on a 25 meter target woudl be specified "defective".

  • Because people expect to be moving/walking while shooting and think that every shot should hit something while they spam the trigger button, and that's not how it works.

  • yea no... with NF its way easier to reliable hit a target than with better devils for example.. i was pissed when they increased bloom on the midnight coup.. and i suddenly had to stick the gun up someones face to hit it.. and i had 13.000 kills with it.. and it went straigt to the vault after discovering this.. -.-

  • Do you have nf? Because if you don’t how do you know it’s easier to hit with? If you fighting lots of nfs it means your going against people who are extremely good at crucible or they paid for it and there’s a clear difference when fighting them. Nf and Luna’s for that matter don’t even have the fastest ttk anymore and it’s still extremely punishing if you miss a headshot. Every other hc I’ve played with which includes better devils which sucks in pvp anyway are otherwise extremely forgiving when you miss you head.

  • Not really service revolver is way more stable than Luna’s and nf the barrel of the gun covers people heads with Luna’s and nf so you almost have to guess where the head is

  • Destiny is not a game that should strive for realism. If it did that it would be incredibly boring in both pve and pvp. Furthermore in my post above I stated that not forgotten has little to no bloom based on the fact it is a precision frame handcanon. Therefore it would not benefit as much as other handcanons would from the removal of bloom. If more handcanons were made viable we would not see not forgotten as much. This can be seen on pc where you can see more ace of spades being used than not forgottens. Also on pc the meta is far from destiny 1. Therefore it would be unlikely for the meta to shift to how it was in destiny 1.

  • Ace is still a beast on console. I think the "bloom" on console is overexaggerated to be honest. 140s and 150s still do work. I had a 110 Crimil wreck me earlier. Duke shows up every once in a while.

  • Not really. They are still overpowered. With autos, scouts, and pulses being behind pistols in time to kill they are still stronger than they should be.

  • It's not realistic. Autorifles, scout rifles, pulse rifles should be stronger than pistols, or at least competitive with time to kill. Pistols are still ahead for some reason.

    Side arms are closer to pistols, not only that if auto rifles were the top they will be way more no skill than hand cannons, just hold down the trigger and drag, that’s what happened in year 1. At least reduce hand cannon bloom, they are not overpowered on console(non 180s) Austringer and Spare Rations are the only viable ones. And other weapons are still competing or better then them. Not only that on p.c the pulse rifles that are good on console are also top tier picks on p.c as well. 390s were just as good as pre nerf Luna and NF especially with rampage or kill clip, and same applies to 450s and 4 bursts. Pulse rifles tbh on console especially have been dominant since war mind with Vwing and GLance, for all of Y2 it’s 390s and 4 bursts and 450s. In D1 if it wasn’t a hand cannon meta it was a pulse meta. And especially how obnoxious flinch is then another auto rifle meta would be the worst thing to happen.
