After Season of opulence launch the lightlevel has increased. But there are now significantly more PVE activities that allow close quarters fight. BUT, this week Menagerie & Reckoning have blackout and the stronger melee mod on. STOP THIS, its almost unplayable!

Maybe I'm just crazy, but the big bois on the Bridge of Folly are never an issue here. They get melted seconds after they spawn. I'm going to assume your solo queuing into the Reckoning? If so, here's a bit of advice: Make loadout adjustments. Give weapons (and year one weapons) a second look. Try for debuffs or certain buffs depending on your class. If you're a Warlock running well, take advantage of empowering. If you're a Titan, Code of the Commander and Burning Maul are excellent choices (either mass healing from void anchors or constant stagger from the maul). Hunters have a load of choices in all their supers; between Celestial, middle tree Arcstrider, and the underused bottom tree tether (stuns like crazy) they are also viable. Also, consider weapon combos like Tractor Cannon and Zenith of Your Kind (incredible damage). While it does require getting close, there is (usually) enough stagger there to melt any of the big bois. Get outside your comfort zone if you have to and try different weapons. If you have a good PvE sniper, you can easily knock half their health out of the way stupid fast. Same with any shotguns. As for a way to counter their melee attacks, try a melee cancel. They telegraph their attacks very clearly and as soon as the melee is about to hit, while it will hurt like hell, you can melee them as the attack hits and stay at their feet. You should have several seconds to unload a shotgun into their chest or face and likely take them down. Take advantage of burns and daily modifiers! If you're a Warlock and it's grenade day, you can pump out solar grenades one after another! Bottom tree Titan Sentinel, while it may not have the highest DPS, can easily take all the aggro from those big bois and if done right (using Doomfangs) the super can last from one end of the bridge to the other end, providing much needed aggro! If it's melee day, once again, empowering from well-locks or even triggering devour on bottom tree nova from the Warlock stacked on top of a well and a good shotgun can save you from serious threats. I could go on and on, but way I see it, if something has become challenging for you, take a step back, evaluate your current weapon and armor loadout and try something new! You may surprise yourself with an entirely new loadout that melts those big bois easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Blackout should leave Reckoning at least. It’s pathetic you’re forced to stay in the circle on the bridge and go against stomps that send you back to destiny 1. Or how the Reckoning is set up, as in, you need to stay in one place for perks or objectives, but the Knights instant kill you a distance. Especially with brawler on, that’s ludicrous.

Edited by DeathPony07: 6/17/2019 7:00:43 AMBlackout should be removed from the game. It isn't challenging. It's just annoying.
-
The amount of unfair, ridiculous bullshit in this game us just that... Ridiculous... Or bullshit.... either or
-
It’s “fine” as it is, that said it’s a terrible modifier and hate it. It does make some activities WAY harder (Reckoning for example) but overall it’s still doable. If you have that big a problem with it then just don’t do it that day and wait till the next
-
I can understand Reckoning as soloing that can be frustrating, but I don’t see the point in worrying about Menagerie, there is literally no way to fail in there, you just do an extra room or two.
-
Really hilarious seeing people defending these modifiers. I never understood masochism anyway.
-
Well and tether is your solution. With how many people are already 750 or close to 750, it shouldn’t be too hard to burn down specific bosses with swords that you may be frightened of.
-
not a problem , so one one will tell you yes is a problem
-
Git gud
-
It's one of the few things challenging in this game. It's not permanent either. I do completely understand the frustration of trying to play solo in either of these activities with the modifiers on.
-
Haha mad cos bad
-
Brawler is the most fun a striker can have, HANDS OFF!
-
They reset daily. And they’re called modifiers. Mods are what you apply to gear.
-
the mod resets every day, but the blackout needs to go from reckoning especially if I get teammates who suck. there is one more thing... lately I play with teammates who suck great in reckoning T3. if I go to the LFG I barely see anyone doing reckoning. reckoning is literally dead since the nerf. today alone I spent 2+ hours to get 4 rounds completed for the powerful helmet bounty.
-
you mean blackout... right?
-
Don't get me started with Blackout mixed with the Riposte
An absolute nightmare.
Also, it is impossible to fail menagerie. If you are looking for a specific triumph, LFG it on a day that doesnt include specific modifiers you dont like.

Blackout is annoying af

Edited by hazyy-_-hoppz76: 6/16/2019 2:13:32 PM💡DO NOT PLAY IT FOR THAT ‘24’💡

Clearly you’ve never used winter’s guile/wormgod’s caress on brawler. The darkness are the ones who should be scared
-
Just give that game mode a miss when it's on and do other things. I say nope to blackout, it's more about having no radar especially in menagerie. It's annoying when you don't know where to go.

You'd have a point back in Year 1 when enemy melee damage did 20x more damage in Year 1 which is a 1 shot regardless of what level you are, but now? It's not a problem, be aware of your surroundings. Sure the occasional swarm of thrall that sneak up behind all like "surprise buttsex!" but since then it's never been a problem. Be more aware of your surroundings?
