A duplicate exotic weapon is without a doubt the most useless piece of loot and this can be said for every player in the game. Besides a higher power level--max power if you are around that level-- it is frustrating to finally get a rare exotic drop from a random enemy only for it to be another Crimson. Not to mention the 1 weekly account based Fated engram can still drop useless duplicate exotic weapons. Exotics are supposed to be something to look forward to, not something to dread. I go to Xur and get the Fated engram and get a Crimson OR I defeat a random enemy in a patrol space and get an exotic engram that ends up being Crimson -- This is not the way it should be as it dilutes the exotic loot table with absolutely unnecessary rewards. I go to Xur and get the Fated engram fully aware that it will be a Forsaken exotic armor and I'm excited to see the random roll in hopes it will fit my playstyle. If it was a bad roll then so be it, at least I had a 100% chance of getting a duplicate exotic armor piece with a different random roll. OR I defeat an enemy in a patrol space and get an exotic engram that I know is either a Forsaken armor piece or something new in the seasonal loot table. If there are new seasonal exotic weapons that I already have, then they would be knocked off the loot table to make room for a random roll exotic armor piece.
