Maybe put out a contest for the fans, and the top ten designs get added to the game? I have the greatest satisfaction when my character looks epic or has an epic gun! You can take inspiration from other cultures too! There are tons of examples in history that can be explored or explored more (e.g., Medieval, Roman, Aztec, Japan, China, Egyptian, Middle Eastern, Russian, etc.)! Go nuts! Have a poll! So much material to use, but we have so little options in the game right now! If making armor pieces is too much, then more ornaments of differing styles that apply to sets? Please Bungie? I'll love you forever? I won't name my kid Bungie, but maybe a flag in my office? That's a fair trade. Upvote for more varied loot!
