Instead it was just occasional stuff that was part of Taken King. It took a while year for the next expansion.
Bungie had a system for D1:
-Vanilla
-Dlc 1
-Dlc 2
-Big Dlc 1
-Big Dlc 2
But for Destiny 2 they added in the Season Pass (which will be free come the September expansion...) so that their current schedule is:
-Vanilla
-Dlc 1
-Dlc 2
-Big Dlc 1
-Season Pass (1?)
-Big Dlc 2
Just saying, people that have an issue with the Season Pass because it isn't the "regular" content drip are wrong in this case. There are plenty of other reasons to dislike the Pass if you so choose, but saying it is worse than the small dlcs at this point doesn't even make sense as their schedule hasn't ever provided for year 2 intermediary dlc

I have a problem with the season pass because it doesn’t feel like very replayable or exciting stuff to me. I felt like d1 content had a high level of replay ability, whereas the stuff in the seasonal passes is just kinda meh after the first week or so. I’ve never even done the reckoning because it looks boring and there is loot I don’t care to obtain.
