If that program is running (even in TSR, background, or just taskbar) while you also have D2 open/running, then you will get banned in D2.

Seriously? This is absurd! It doesn't even affect the game!

Edited by dc213baseball: 5/5/2019 11:14:39 AMDoesn’t matter. Bungie policy is that running any cheat/mod for any game while subsequently running D2 will be cause for ban. Here is their stance:
We do not ban players for simply having cheat tools installed, but do ban for running them while playing Destiny 2. We do not differentiate between cheat tools for Destiny 2 and cheat tools for other games because it would be easy to avoid a ban by making a Destiny 2 cheat tool that pretends to be a cheat tool for another game. Make sure you turn all cheat tools off before running Destiny 2 and you won’t have to worry about bans. No one is being banned for third-party applications that try to inject overlays like Discord, XSplit, OBS, RTSS, Shadowplay, etc.
I mean, sometimes some program processes may be on the background and go unnoticed, I cannot live in the uncertainty and anxiety of me not noticing a strangely named process related to the program that I didn't know about that potentially get me banned. Therefore I will not install it and I will wait for the end of this annual pass. I was thinking about leaving Destiny 2 after the next season anyway but God, what a pain in the ass.

It is on you/me/others to know exactly what we have running at all times & to fully close all programs that any game developers warn us about not having running/using when playing.
