Prime engrams dropping at low light level
I'm currently at light level 663, yet most of prime engrams I get from daily/weekly activities drop at about 635. My understanding is that prime engrams are supposed to drop higher than your current light level. What's going on? Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong?

I'm pretty sure your mixing legendary engrams from prime and milestone. Milestone and prime engrams always give higher power level. Some milestone actually give you some legendary engrams. You only get one powerful engram each milestone completion.

Edited by DonMarfil: 4/3/2019 10:12:05 AMAs others said i think you are mixing things. there are three types of purple engrams 1. purple engrams you find in the open world, instantly popping into some kind of gear once you pick them up. They are usually ~20 below your actual LL. 2. [b]powerful[/b] engrams. They drop from weekly/daily milestones and are above your LL. The gap is depending on the activity you earn them from. 3. [b]prime[/b] engrams. You are picking them up from time to time and they go into your inventory. You take them to Rahool and they give gear way above your LL (+13?) Long story short: Not every purple engram is a prime engram.

1 ReplyWell most people like clowns do all the high stuff first(nightfall,dreaming city, gambit prime,and,raids)and then do low stuff (crucible,vanguard playlist, and gambit) last. Doing the low activities last will screw you out of gear and playing only one class(almost everyone that has this problem) is limiting how fast you go up. You don't get powerful gear for making 3 of the same class anymore you have to use 1 of every class and make sure to do your favorite or main class last. This is efficient level progression with the unnecessary limitations we have.You are guranteed 670 first week,680 second week or higher,690 third, and max fourth.

Since you are 660ish if you had 3 charecters you would have been 680. I can tell you skipped iron banner which is a great way to catch up if you have a strong resolve.

2 RepliesI think you mixed up Prime Engrams that drop randomly and are high LL with Powerful engrams you get as rewards from doing milestones.
