•
He’s one hell of a helljumper
False. He’s a Spartan IV. Get with the times.

 • Sure but until he throws that Helljumper helmet in the bin he’s still and always will be the best ODST.

 • No, I'd say shitty corrupt ONI officials would be the type to disregard sentiment.

 •
No, I'd say shitty corrupt ONI officials would be the type to disregard sentiment.
By definition, a government official who lets his/her sentiments get in the way of the Truth is corrupt. To quote a certain political person,
Facts don’t care about your feelings.
• That's cool and all but... hes still an ODST at heart.

 •
That's cool and all but... hes still an ODST at heart.
False. He’s a Spartan IV at the heart in more ways than 1. Literally speaking, his heart is implanted with a synthetic, polythread weave which significantly increases its capacity to pump blood. Figuratively, if he was still ODST at heart, he wouldn’t have signed up to become a Spartan in the first place. He’s moved beyond ODST.

 •
Literally speaking, his heart is implanted with a synthetic, polythread weave which significantly increases its capacity to pump blood.
Obviously we're not talking literally so this argument is pointless.
Figuratively, if he was still ODST at heart, he wouldn’t have signed up to become a Spartan in the first place. He’s moved beyond ODST.
Alright, let me explain this more clearly since it seems you don't know the character very well or you just dont know what I meant in the first place. Buck initially declined the offer from Spartan III Jun (from Halo: Reach) to join the Spartan IV program because he was afraid that he'd have to leave Dare and his squad behind. Later on after The Rookie got killed Jun and Buck had a drink in his honor and Buck declined again to Jun's offer but changed his mind because Jun offered his whole team to become Spartan IVs. So you see Buck didn't necessarily move on from being an ODST and when I say that I'm not actually talking about the title but what being an ODST meant to him. He didn't didn't move on from his team, he didn't move on from Mickey even after he lost his shit and betrayed him and he certainly didn't move on from Veronica Dare and ended up marrying her on the freakin Infinity. Buck is no longer part of the ODST special ops and is now a Spartan IV? True. Buck has moved on from the person he was and the things he cared about when he was an ODST? False. So from the looks of it and probably alot of other people, Buck is still that ODST in his heart, at his core it is who he is. I mean if he wears the Helljumper Spartan armor variant that has to mean something. I can't help it that the character is sentimental.

Literally speaking, his heart is implanted with a synthetic, polythread weave which significantly increases its capacity to pump blood.
Obviously we're not talking literally so this argument is pointless.
False. The point here is that every facet of Buck is now Spartan.

Figuratively, if he was still ODST at heart, he wouldn’t have signed up to become a Spartan in the first place. He’s moved beyond ODST.
Alright, let me explain this more clearly since it seems you don't know the character very well or you just dont know what I meant in the first place. He didn't didn't move on from his team, he didn't move on from Mickey even after he lost his shit and betrayed him and he certainly didn't move on from Veronica Dare and ended up marrying her on the freakin Infinity.
On the contrary, it is you who are ignorant of Buck’s psyche. As you’ve so clearly described, the issue wasn’t about ODST at all, but completely about his squad mates and Dare. Hence why he reconsidered when his whole squad was offered Spartanhood. It wasn’t about ODST. It was about his squad. This something any good soldier, Marine, Army, ODST, Spartan, etc would be concerned about.
Buck is no longer part of the ODST special ops and is now a Spartan IV? True.
Yup.
Buck has moved on from the person he was and the things he cared about when he was an ODST? False.
You’ve created a red herring here. I never asserted that.
So from the looks of it and probably alot of other people,
You’re looking very superficially here, and you’re arguing based off of consensus, rather than purely the content.
Buck is still that ODST in his heart, at his core it is who he is. I mean if he wears the Helljumper Spartan armor variant that has to mean something. I can't help it that the character is sentimental.
He’s moved on from ODST (the training and values thereof) and has ascended beyond them to Spartan IV-hood. It would be like saying a Navy Seal was still a Marine at heart... that’s just plain redundant or regressive. Not in value, but in speciality.

 • It seems to me that we just have different perspectives on the matter.

 •
It seems to me that we just have different perspectives on the matter.
False. Buck is a character completely based upon the whims of 343i. He’s not yet dead and the universe is still growing.

 •
The difference between what you and I think of Buck is false? Lol well alright then. Yea man. FALSE!
Yup. They’re both false, because the character is still subject to change. Until New Blood was written, exactly nobody thought that Mickey could desert and join terrorists.
