How much experience to you have in programming and project management? How much experience do you have in change control and development testing? How much experience do you have in patch management and QA testing? Until you have some experience in any of those areas your have no idea what kinds of changes are easy or not.

On the client side, there's only been 4 or 5 patches since November. This comes at a time where new content is being released. That's 14 days between patches, on average. That's slow. The bugs stay in the current version for a long time. Starcraft 2 which is almost 10 years old now is these days patched more frequently or at least as frequently as D2. That's with way less new content or hardly any new content for Starcraft. Also, are you saying the weapons frame bug is a major issue? Because it isn't. It is not like they re-balance a weapon perk and then have to test dozens of weapons in dozens of PvE and PvP situations.

Are you honestly comparing a Blizzard product to this? A company that has immense resources to dedicate to patch management. C'mon. A 2 week patch gap is not bad for a company Bungie's size. Your perspective is way off. And you didn't answer any of my questions about your real world experience.

  • Am I comparing this game with other games? Absolutely. Why not? The size of the company shouldn't keep anybody from becoming more professional. Blizzard my be bigger but I don't know that more people currently work on SC2 than on D2 since Blizzard has more titles. Maybe Blizzard got so big because they work on updates day and night. Do I need credentials to notice how many days go by between the discovery of the bug and the fix? And the frequency of updates?

  •
The size of the company shouldn't keep anybody from becoming more professional.
Your confusing professionalism with resources and efficiency. The size of an organization directly impacts development schedule. Your ignorance in this matter is obnoxious and full of so many assumptions and fallacy.
Do I need credentials to notice how many days go by between the discovery of the bug and the fix? And the frequency of updates?
You need to have an understanding of development before you can make assumptions on how it's done. How can you tell a developer how they should run their patching of you know nothing about it? Where do you for the basis of your opinion on except to compare it to a company that has almost unlimited resources? Sorry but you sound clueless and just reaching for something you can't grasp.

Are you one of these Bungie fansboys on a misguided mission to protect Bungie from an assailant? Because I'm not an assailant. I kind of like them. Which is why I want them to get better. This is why I don't give people like you my name or credentials, which I do have btw. I knew from the get go from your questions and wording that you were just looking for something about me so you can ad hominem attack me. You don't need credentials to recognize a slow release patch release cycle. You only need a calendar. And the comparison. So, enough talk about me. What about the points I am making? The patch release cycle could be quicker. The bugs would not be in the game for so long if it were quicker.
