People dropping out of school to play video games for 100 viewers is embarrassing. however, if you already have a steady income while streaming on the side and end up getting some popularity, why not? If i could make hundreds of dollars a day from kids taking their parents’ credit cards just by clicking a button and playing video games for a few hours i would probably do it.

Making an income while playing games and sitting comfy at home.. Yeah that just sounds horrible..

Alot of them don't make income though. I don't watch streamers, but from what I hear, they're regularly begging for people to donate money to them. If that's an income, then homeless people also have regular income because they're also begging strangers for money all the time.

Never heard people say "stop giving me money, I have enough" The top can make millions a year, the bottom better spend the money from their headset on a proper meal, but there are a lot in between who make a nice buck out of it. And the ones that are often referred to here are the ones who make decent amount of views since who else would ever care about them. Have a read on this breakdown to see how much money is going on, and how such a small piece of the cake is enough to call it an income. https://www.tubefilter.com/2018/10/10/twitch-streamers-earn-per-month-breakdown-disguisedtoast/

Again if it works great I’m just concerned of the hundreds or thousands or poor kids that actually believe it’s a viable career Not slamming those that reach the mountain top

Yeah, I imagine it's going to be like when blogging got real popular for a bit and everyone was trying to be a professional blogger, only to realise that people don't really care about their dumb opinions and boring lives.
