I simply can't accept the notion of atheism, because the universe, with its clockwork precision, and life, with its incredible complexity, did not create themselves. It's like believing that you can take some lumber, scrap metal, and glass... shake it for a few hundred millennia and BAM! You have a grandfather clock. Doesn't happen. Order deteriorates into chaos, not the other way around, and while certainly evolution sustains and upgrades life, it can't create it. Survival of the fittest only functions when life actually exists. Be that as it may, fear of death is not merely for those who belong to a religious faith that features hell. Many other reasons exist: it's different. It's unknown. It might be painful. We lose everyone we love. All the joys and pleasures of life come to an end. And finally, I'm assuming you believe in evolution, since you openly reject the alternative. Well, we fear death because billions of years of evolution have programmed us to do so.

  • "The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason." - Benjamin Franklin The universe began as a very hot, small, and dense super force (the mix of the four fundamental forces), with no stars, atoms, form, or structure (called a "singularity"). Then about 13.8 billion years ago, space expanded very quickly (thus the name "Big Bang"). That is what you call nothing. Some people would just rather believe in God then search for the scientific truth. Weird indeed. Atheism is just the lack of belief in God. If you look at The Bible you can point out all the wrong "so-called facts" and immoral verses. Earth is not 6,000 years old, the stars and sun are not different but one and the same, the moon does not emit light it reflects light from the sun, Earth was not made in 6 days but over the course 4.5 billion years. This is some of the dumb things The Bible says. Which I corrected. How Earth actually formed - Earth formed about 4.6 billion years ago by collisions in the giant disc-shaped cloud of material that also formed the Sun. Gravity slowly gathered this gas and dust together into clumps that became asteroids and small early planets called planetesimals. Lastly, I don't care if you're religious I just care about knowledge. And I urge you strongly to look at the things you believe in. Question everything. Also, if you need to know how immoral The Bible actually is Google EvilBible.com.

  • Reread my last. I think that my post was eminently based in logic and reason. Let's consider something else, as long as we're looking into the distant past: it took 2.5 billion years just for prokaryotic life to upgrade into the eukaryotes that ultimately constituted multicellular organisms like us. I harbor SERIOUS doubts that in a mere fraction of that time, a swirling sea of molecules could just randomly form into living organisms; complete with mechanisms for motility, defense, fuel absorption, energy management, and error-free self-replication. That's like a multi-billion piece jigsaw puzzle just self-assembling, a mathematically impossible event. Ergo, since life is impossible in a vacuum, the logical assumption is that it had help.

  • That's the thing though, you just have doubts. I would be lying to you if I said all science is easy to comprehend. Not calling you dumb, just study. And like I said, question everything. Which you have already presented by doubting it. Please watch this five-minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQX4mKvqSoo Look at the universe as a mystery until the day comes(if ever) scientist objectively find out where the universe came from. The Big Bang is a fact, but people really want to know the before. Just don't cling on to "I doubt" but "I want to know." In other words, believing in a God is fine, just don't see it as a fact. Be an agnostic and be willing to change your mind. I hope that video helps you open up.

  • Bad news for those Big Bounce theorists... scientific evidence points to the Big Chill. One violent beginning, and a long, cold end. Be that as it may, agnosticism is just the halfway point between deism and atheism. Faith in God is as much about commitment as it is about belief.

I’m a somewhat religious person who believes in science, but I have a question for you and all the atheists I meet (not a attack or some shit I’m not a crazy preacher forcing you into anything)
Whats the start of the universe? Like before the chemical soup?
that’s kind of why I believe in a creator. But I’m a open minded individual who came to discuss and not to more so don’t flame me like the axis powers InWW2
