Ascebdent challenge screwed me out of every reward
I died right before we won the ascendant challenge and then the portal closed and didn't let me in. I didn't get the chest and it didn't even give me the weekly bounty. It gave me the triumph for it though, so it definitely counted. This is such bull.

A little quick to whine. Have you tried it again? A similar thing happened to me last week- you can re-enter the portal (on the same ascendent buff) and complete the bounty and the chest. If you die you will always spawn outside the portal. You can re-enter the portal as long as the 3 charges haven’t been slammed (I’m assuming- last week after the blights were gone). If the charges have been slammed the portal closes until they complete it or everyone dies. If they complete it then you get the triumph for being in the fireteam and the portal area will need to be refreshed. Last week this entailed leaving the lost sector and returning. This week you could orbit or just reload the area. If everyone dies the portal reopens without any reloading

Just do it again. I died today to the last knight and redid it within 5 mins.

That’s why it’s an ascendant challenge . You don’t die or you lose out. That’s the challenge part.
