It was both. Us and Petra.
My first time finishing the story, I thought it was just our character who shot him, but my second time, I really listened to the gunshot. And much to my surprise, it was the combined sound of both the Vestian Dynasty and the Ace of Spades.
Just thought I should share that.

When you receive the vestian Dynasty she says "I'd like you to have this; my sidearm, the Vestian Dynasty, it's the weapon that... well. You know. Nothing left to say about that." So petra shot Uldren with Vestian Dynasty
-
False for many reasons. First off Ace of Spades makes a distinct sound. This was not heard during the cut to black. If you listen closely it's the sound of Petra's gun. And when you obtain the gun she calls it "the gun that.... well enough said about that" or along the lines of that. Second, when we get the Ace it is broken. As in unfirable. so no way we shot Uldren. Third, he is dead, he was sitting on that burial thing when the ghost revived him, so unless he decided to play dead (unlikely) and sat there for most likely several days (very unlikely) he died. And the fact that the ghost revived him is evidence enough that he died.

Wrong. It was Petra, and Petra alone. Not only does she explicitly say she killed him, the sound of the gun firing during the black screen is definitely not AoS. This is because it has a clear, two syllable “ka-chink” sound. Only Vestian makes the single syllable “pew” noise, and the dramatic explosion sort of sound was likely added exclusively for effect.

When you talk to Petra after finishing the campaign, she gives you the Vestian Dynasty and in the dialogue box from which you collect the reward she says something along the lines of "This was the gun that... well, there's nothing left to say about that". Because the final mission of Forsaken is called "Nothing Left To Say", I'm just going to assume from that that Petra shot.

It was Petra, I would have stuck him in an eternal void torture thing, separating his body through spacetime, but keeping them together

12 RepliesNope, it was Petra. If it was my guardian I would've heard at least 12 more rounds. Not to mention my golden gun.
-
It was Petra. My guardian would have gone super saiyan on his ass and lasered him into the next dimension.
-
Lmao Probably Petra. Our guardian is too much of a pussy, and don’t get me started on our teenage target audience ghost.

So Ive thought about this a lot and read a lot of comments here and this is what Ive got... The gun shot we here fired does sound an aweful lot like the VD, however, it also sounds like AOS, almost at the same time. Many people have argued that the AOS was unfireable due to Banshee's quest. However. Banshee is tuning the gun, for you. Remember this is Destiny, we have space magic AND this gun was made for Cayde, specifically. And made by Banshee. So the gun was origianly made not just for Cayde in terms of the build itself but also to react to Caydes body, like a living weapon, siva works in a very different but similar fashion so this is not unheard of in this world. And I dont know about you but If I got a used weapon I would deffinatley want it give a good look over. Uldren fires Ace, in the prison and on the edz. He sheaths it in the tangled shore, and attempts to use it one final time after that. Considering his barrons, the machinist in particular, I doubt Uldren would have simply walked around un armed save a broken pistol with no real sentimental value to him personaly. Im not saying its gospel, but Im sure it was left openended intentionaly and if you think about it cinematicaly, it was a good descicion to close the scene that way, considering the opening scene. So Im gonna say both fired. One for his Friend the other for her People. Both for Revenge

1 ReplyWhy is this becoming a Star Wars meme? By the way, Han shot first.
-
3 RepliesNo one shot uldren. He’s still alive. Bungie wants us to think we shot uldren in the cut scene but then quickly swapped to a black screen where we just hear the gunshot. The shot was the guardian deciding last second to spare uldren and shot over him. We pick up this scene later and see it happen in another DLC and continue on...
-
2 Repliesno it was Sgt. Johnson's ghost, and it was not a gunshot, rather it was the sound of two sticks and a rock being shared by a whole platoon.

1 ReplyEdited by Calevis24: 9/10/2018 5:17:17 PMWhen Petra gives you the Vestian Dynasty, she literally says something like, "This is the gun that well...you know." Basically implying it's the gun that she shot and killed him. Also, the guardians face seems to give pause right before it happens. A lot of people in the city, including vendors seem to have it up in the air as well, but to me that line from Petra is basically her claiming she did it, which I honestly prefer.
-
Me and Petra did it. Awoken sister smackdown all up in this piece.
-
Petra tells us who did it.
-
5 Replies100% believe that Greedo shot first.
-
Well if the Ace of Spades was "broken" and has to be fixed by Banshee, It must have been Petra. She probably also intentionally grazed him and then stashed him somewhere.
-
I would throw my money at the screen to know
-
We had not yet done a BS pvp quest so it wasn't the ace of spades sorry.
-
1 ReplyPetra shot him remember the ace of spades was broken
-
We all know it was Ghost who shot him.
-
Did we see the shot, no body no crime 😜 mayb 🤔
