Never finished raid. Had one go before,

First I'd like to shout to themadking169 for being only ever person to take time to try teach me raid on my first time. But as for everyone else, they don't want to know know. Ya gotto have done prestige this many times you gotto have whisper ect ect. Iv never done so how am I meant to -blam!-ing learn? Anyway one day don't need to be today but of someone could teach me more about it and try get me through. I'll watch some videos before. We got to the part with the dogs where jump through holes woth the orbs and then put them in centre, but then people had to leave. Obviously I'm not gunna be brilliant it's something iv never done. So one day in dear future would anyone be kind enough to teach me, help a fella out? I thought the destiny community was meant to be helpful and good. But iv found that quite a bit of it is fairly toxic, very toxic. Had a message asking if I wanted claymore I said yea course. Then they want 30quid straight up. Same with trails and same with some raids. People expect to be payed to help people put in a community based driven game. Madness

Kowing is half the battle. Watch a youtube video on what raid you are doing before you join a team. Make your own fireteam and tell them you know what to do but have never done it. Are you an xbox?

      • For a raids, I just require people to KNOW the mechanics. That means at least watching a youtube guide or reddit guide. Some sort of guide of all the positions. It shouldn't take long to watch at all. 15? 20 minutes to understand the mechanics? I doubt I'm the only one who does this.

The raids aren't hard mechanic wise. Very basic with symbols, directions, and just thinking about what to do next in your head before you have to. People don't have time to go in and teach someone while dying time after time and taking hours to get through a normal raid. YouTube is a awesome tool my friend and if you are this far behind, I would watch a video over and over and over until you know the mechanics before going in. This way you won't even need to tell someone you haven't done it before, just go in and play normal and no one will notice. I have almost 100 sherpas which means I have helped almost 100 people complete a raid for the first time. Most people understand the mechanics, but can't handle the adds and die constantly as well. I have also seen people try to do the prestige raid after one normal completion. I bet the one normal completion was a struggle then they try to do a prestige?? It takes at least 5 completions to even understand the mechanics fully. Just do not try and blame the whole community on your lack of effort. Watch videos, find a fireteam who are willing to teach (which I have seen hundreds of groups post saying they don't mind to teach), or make your own post saying you haven't completed it but really want to and I've seen those posts fill up many times as well.

        • Exactly. Not that the raids are completely OP considering it calls for a really low light level compared to the cap, but the fact they made the game stupidly challenging with puzzles and all that, you cant hardly find anyone wanting to teach you how to do the raid. If you join a fireteam that just randomly asks you to join and they learn you havnt done the raid they quit as soon as it starts. The guided games take way to long to start. Its not a pleasant experience. I have played since day one and i have never completed anything on the leviathan not once.

              • Going so spend my last day practicing crucible woth the upcoming sandbox change. I hope where lever weaips put to an extant. I'm fed up of get team shotted to void blobs by the graviton. It may hurt some feelings but in hope it's nerfed . Fed up crucible all using damn weopons? It's just all you ever seen in there making the crucible less fun. I'm not impressed the nerf in worhusk. Because hunters have the slowest hearlth shealdnl Wanna practice multi hancanonsn, weopons tbh

              • Gauntlet is usually the exhausting encounter where most players tend to quit in my experience. Its a long encounter and 1 mistake is usually enough to wipe it for everyone. To add a newbie into the mix just further drags out the encounter, no offense. The sad reality is that people are impatient and are unwilling to be the "sherpa" type of role. Theres a few cool patient players out there. But most of the time, its just exhausting spending 3+ hours trying to teach a newbie.

                • You should watch or read guides before jumping in if its this late honestly. If you want to go in blind and learn theres plenty of sherpa groups you can find.
