Paid carries and account recoveries are against the EULA and TOS of the game. That being said, it would nearly be impossible to nail everyone who does it. Also note, that account recoveries are actually against the console's EULA/TOS so that would also potentially be a downside to it.
The other downside is probably 85% of the people offering account recoveries and/or carries especially for Crucible are using illicit means to complete them. That leads to a flurry of posts here about every Wednesday for people who are 'innocent' who have been banned because they let someone else use their account and that person lag switched them to flawless.

Well if you do carries, and do them for no money, technically it's not a violation. Even when streamers say "oh it's not a paid carry, they donated to my channel" or "they won a raffle"; I mean technically that's against the rules. I wish I had a better answer for you guardian, I appreciate your willingness to help out though. If you really, REALLY want to be legend. Get out there and carry some people that others wouldn't through Crucible/Trials/Raids/etc. and earn karma points. Too many people are too stuck up about their requirements which is why people like me end up playing solo for most of the stuff in this game. Tried to do a raid layer the other day and was booted from 9 different groups because I had not done the raid layer yet. Kinda hard to get a raid layer completion done when no one will do it with you, ya know? Same thing with Trials. I have a whopping 1 Trials match wins (note: not flawless, just one match win). So get out there and carry those poor folk that desperately are looking for a good samaritan and watch the karma points you earn from that.

Cheers man, good luck to you. I appreciate the referral but I've just about given up on the community as a whole to be dead honest. I come here to help people get connections setup and help them with their D1/D2 errors, but other than a select group of people I regularly deal with; I'm just burnt out of all the overall idiots who cannot show a lick of compassion to people (this does NOT include you mind you).
