SBMM is the best thing it could have. Players of similar ability should be pitted against each other. That's how most every non-professional sporting event and competition works, from dog shows, to arts and craft fairs to beer judgings to restaurant critiques to adult softball. Otherwise there wouldn't be any women's sports, let them compete with the men. No special Olympics, let them compete with everyone else. No kids categories, let them compete with the adults.

  • In fact quickplay it's not competitive and players of the same level should not be encounter each other more than in a random MM. The MM should be a CONNECTION based MM. It's so simple that i don't get why you can't underztand.

  • Quickplay prioritizes connection in its matchmaking. SBMM only comes into play in the Competitive playlist.

  • Then why when a friends of mine, who is not of my skill, play with me he says it's hell hard? I'm not the only one to say this, check oh YT.

  • I didn't say there was no skill in the Quickplay matchmaking, just that it prioritizes connection. There will always be some level of skill taken into account. Pub stomping isn't fun for either side.

  • when i (from Italy) play against arabian, american ... players you can't say is based on connection. And when i play the same guys every time that are good players like me, you cannot say that prioritizes connection. I have tried on my skin.

  • If there's a winner and a loser then by definition, it's a competition. As I said most every form of non professional competition has categories and classes to make the competition fair and promote entry. If you know you have no chance to win, you won't enter. If I know I'm going to get stomped every match, I wouldn't play.

  • You didn't consider a big big thing: improvement. If you are a terrible player and you miss all of your shots, you can't blame anyone but you. So what do you do? You leave the game cause the game it's too hard? Or because it's not thought for noobs? The answer is no. You get better, Git Gud. A great game once said: " If you find yourself dying too much, you should try to play better".

  • People's abilities plateau at different levels for different reasons. Those levels need to be accounted for or you would only ever have the top tier people in any event. Let's do away with the special Olympics and just tell the participants to Get Gud.

  • You can always improve if you really want, but it means a lot of practice, and if you do not want just remain your level and blame the game if someone better than you has killed you. But you know that's the way it is supposed to be in every thing, if anyone is better than you, you lose. SBMM negates this principle of life and let you play in your fantasy world when you should go outside facing everyone, stronger or weaker they might be.

  • I've already stated many things that use categories and classes to even out the competition. There's reasons for that or it wouldn't be done.

  • I don't think. 2 primaries is a terrible idea, but it has been done. Snipers, shotties and fusions in the same cathegory with rockets is a terrible idea, but again, it has been done. The removal of random perks from weapons is again a terrible thing and again it has been done. I wouldn't trust the idea "there's a reason why it has been done and because it has been done it's right".

You seem to think every competition should be the best of the best. That's not how things work and it's been that way for a long time in many different areas. If you think it's wrong, that's your opinion. But the existence of it, the proliferation of it and the longevity of it, would say you're wrong. To sum it up, lets take a commonly known competition that many have participated in. How about marathons? You would take away all the classes for kids, seniors, gender, handicaps, etc. And it would be whoever is fastest wins and no one else gets any consideration.

  • Last answer: i am not saying every competition should be the best of the best. I am saying that it's more fun if you play people of different skill level: if you find a person weaker than you, you beat him and you feel powerful. If you get one better than you, you lose and you can learn from him how to get better. In the contrary if you only find people of you level the result is that every match is hard for both teams and none of them end up having fun. If you play quickplay is because you don't want to compete, otherwise you would play competitive. In fact if you play quickplay, especially if you are a solo queuer, you Just want to play and have fun, trying your guns, not always using the meta, you just want to face a bunch of noobs and have fun killing em, maybe get a run out of medals, or maybe face a better player than you and lose but learning from him. In the end SBMM eliminates the randomness and also the fun, It only bring stress and frustration, and that is not what you wanna see in a videogame. Peace.

  • And yh, Kids should compete with adults to become better players, and girls can be as good as boy in videogames.
