Probably not practical and most likely a balance nightmare but, theoretically, if dual wielding could be done in Destiny, how would it be done?
Naturally dual Sidearms comes to mind but they would be paired weapons by default. As in the weapon drops as a pair and is coded as a paired weapon. Fire could be bound to both triggers. Left trigger for left fire and right trigger for right fire and no ADS. Reload would naturally be slower and would ready slower.
Dual hand cannons would work the same way. Dropped and coded as a paired weapon, slower reload, no ADS. What do you all think? Build upon it.

Two Crimson and I'd be set lol

This would be pretty sweet. Not sure about the balancing side of things. One possible way of doing it would be using two slots. Ending up with just dual wielded weapons and a heavy. Make it so it's only small arms like another had said. SMG, Side Arms, and Hand Cannons. Not sure how youd handle energy vs kinetic though. Could introduce a new weapons class even. Spatha sized blades. Lower defense, lower impact but faster attack. Could add a new sub to each class that allows for dual wield and more gun play perks. Or maybe a special artifact that allows it. Or certain weapons of those types allow for dual wield with the same class of weapon. Example being an Energy SMG with a DW perk. This would allow you to DW it with a kinetic SMG. I dunno. Itd be pretty cool to see it happen. Now that D2 is allowing for more customization with stats from armor. I like customizing and playing with builds. 😁👍

1 ReplyI think there should a an exotic where it’s two akimbo hand cannons or maybe an exotic armor piece that allows you to duel wield.
-
3 RepliesI don't like this idea because the second you introduce dual wielding all the balance goes out the window, especially in D2. This game is designed around wielding a single weapon at a time. DWing two HCs would be way too OP. There are plenty of other games that have DWing. D2 doesn't need it. It's a can of worms I don't want to open.

Hip-fire is maximum hot garbage in this game.

Dual wield rocket launchers, that would be fun reloading... “ hold on, wait. Could you hold this a minute?...”
-
12 RepliesLOL. Good point. Destiny 2 is so backwards, they don't even offer simple things like Akimbo. Heck, Call of Duty has had that for more than 10 years.

Might be a cool idea for an exotic sword set but dual wielding guns is all show no substance in my opinion. Hard pass.

Only weapons id expect to see dual wielding with is dual sidearms, dual smgs, and dual swords. . I would actually expect them to work the same way weapons already do trigger for fire, trigger for aim where it only slightly helps and both weapons always fire together. Only real change would be the animations. . Swords would work the same just animations would be different.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
Can we dual wield Vigilance Wing and Graviton Lance? 😉 I'd say it would be good for the usual suspects of sidearms and SMGs. -
Dual wield two sleeper simulants

Strum and drang should be duel wield
-
Let me dual wield Telesto and we’ll have a deal lol.

Dual weld antiope d

Could work but it would definitely need work for balance so it doesn't outshine other weapons in PvP. They could make it pve only weapon.

1 ReplyDuel wield was always a gimmick. It basically just doubles the Mag size and RoF for double the reload time.

Sturm and Dreng X ♾

I was always surprised there wasn't an exotic sidearm that was dual wielded, working similarly to how SMGs are now. Even if it's a one-of, it would be neat.

3 RepliesI could see dual pistols, smg’s, and sidearms. But I want my LMG’s back first.
