It's not crimson pays bit it is just more reskins of the same stuff we have had for the last however long, I'd rather they focus on getting fixes and new content in the game instead do these boring events.

bungie already said that select crimson loot will also be available for purchase with bright dust from tess. unless you plan on grinding a worse-case scenario of 15 levels, better have bright dust to get that exotic emote before the crimson days is over. crimson days is still a cash grab, just more devious.
