Removing Eververse is Only Step 1 Lets Talk About Step 2

Yes, Remove Eververse is important in Destiny 2 but its not just that. Even if more things are added to activities it won't save the game or franchise. Simply put, the game is too shallow. Its too focused on the shooter side of things and not enough on the MMO/RPG that made D1 fun. Its not just make D2 into D1. D2 is supposed to be a sequel and Bungie needs to fix the issues they have fundamentally in D1 here. Classes/Subclasses: Even in D1 standards these were far too barebones. Only a few options were available to players with the right exotics to have an interesting experience. While exotics should be a part of builds, it shouldn't be the only reason to make builds work. This game honestly doesn't have enough abilities that at least effect PvE. Why not add a team support super to the game like a trance? DPS trance for hunters that increase precision damage for the team for a short period of time. Warlocks would reduce cooldowns for abilities overall for a short period of time. Titans reduce damage taken by all sources for a short period time. Add depth to the subclasses, and more interesting exotics that directly benifit subclasses and not just general purpose. Weapon foundaries: In D1 the weapon foundaries were a good start, making them all have their unique traits, but in D2 they reverted to the frames. Not good enough. Instead why not direct abilities/perks for those foundary weapons? Make them more dynamic. Armor: Just give them more active perks for survival that are noticable. Make stats like movement and toughness actually do something significant. Activities End Game: Simple, we need more activities that directly effect the end game. Original activities that have depth to them. Not adding a milestone to those activities *cough* Heroic Strikes *cough* but new activities that we directly grind for. Perhaps have some of them have soft weekly caps that guarentee you a reward but allow you replay said activities for drops. Ideas of that would be Bosses with lots of mechanics like in a raid but not as punishing but more dynamic. Tie an exotic weapon to their loot table they can only drop, armor that looks like the boss with some perks. Even sparrows that are rare for a set of those bosses. How's about a tower defense horde mode where a fireteam must defend an outpost from hordes of the enemy factions? Let us build/buy defenses and let us use powerful vehicles. Bring Back SRL as a Permanent Game Mode: Let it have its own space where we customize our sparrows, add in features where we can use our Supers to attack other racers to create some havoc on the race track. Make SRL armor have perks just for SRL racing. Mods: They need an upgrade badly. Exotic mods need to be added to the game with class changing perks. Let legendary mods have perks on them like rangefinder, outlaw, firefly, etc. Add slots that allow us to augment the stats on weapons like larger magazines, fire rate, stability, etc. For armor let us have it augment our abilities to add effects to them, like make grenades have a larger blast radius. Let your armor do small pulses of damage as you move around. Clan/Player Housing: Give clans a meaningful activity that lets us feel accomplished and build rather then feel like we are being carried. Give the house features and allow us to customize it based off of cosmetic loot drops and accomplishments from difficult activities. More Secrets: Of all things as a community we LOVE secrets that reward us for putting our minds together. It allows us to create and come together as a community to crack your riddles. More Dynamic Events: Events don't have to always give out specific weapons. You can also have fun with them. Have them tied with cosmetic items we can EARN in a limited amount of time that we can show off. Make them ridiculous. Make Events on Patrols Worthwhile: Why should I care about the enemies moving against each other? Why should I care about this named enemy that is just another HVT? Why should I care about exploring? These are things that need to be addressed. Add rare public events that spawn only every couple of days at random times, with specific rewards tied to them. This adds a level of excitement to patrols that is lacking in the current system besides getting a rare exotic engram. Trials: Simply put there are problems with it. In D1 it was tolerable because there was a Mercy tied to trials. It made it plausible for teams that played fairly that were still skilled but didn't have RNG in their favor. Connecting to a team that are lagging their brains out? Oh well at least it ate our mercy. Went up against a top .5% static team? Oh well at least it ate our mercy. It made Trials bearable. However, instead just make it a ranking/elo system. Have player tied to a division for the weekend based on their previous weeks. Win a certain amount of games in their division and they get the rewards baised off the number of wins. These are some ideas that would revive Destiny 2 and even Destiny as a franchise. The fact is Destiny needs DEPTH added back in. The casual base are likely gone for good. The PVP players are mostly gone for good without serious changes to PvP and monitoring of PvP balance with dedicated server support. Above all else though, PvE needs challenge, depth, and variety. More ideas are welcomed but Eververse needs to go and the franchise needs depth to be saved. Its on life support, half-assed fixes won't cut it. It almost needs a reboot. Bungie stop taking safe half steps. You need to be creative in the depth and content of the game as you are with the landscapes you create. The story is laughable with shallow characters we want to be deeper. Our characters are mute robots that are just a dime a dozen across the guardians. Let us speak. LISTEN TO THE FEEDBACK AND DO THINGS.
