Exotic Auto Rifles need a couple tweaks before they shine

The two true Exotic Auto Rifles in the game are severely held back by some minor issues. Sweet Business - Reserve Ammo Size - Itty Bitty for a minigun This gun is amazing to shoot and tons of fun. But it's held back by a simple problem. The weapon's rate of fire is "low", and its "spinup" is simply its exotic perk, which makes it shoot faster as the trigger is held. Honestly this is a very clever way to implement it as a normal Auto Rifle and still make it a minigun. The problem with this is that reserve ammo size is directly tied to weapon rate of fire, which handicaps this gun VERY hard, as you can only go through 3 magazines before you're dry. This feels like an oversight, and the Sweet Business needs an exclusion or static reserve ammo assignment instead of simply tying it to its base rate of fire. Hardlight - Shakycam - Same reason people don't like Transformers Hardlight is dope. It's essentially a very solid Auto Rifle in operation, with neat perks that make it worthy of being Exotic. Like punch-through, ricochet, and element options. That's super cool. What's not cool is having a seizure when you shoot it. I don't understand, all other auto rifles are pretty stable, why would the Exotic be handicapped from a handling standpoint? Please update this. That's it, love the game, love the shooting mechanics, please just update these guns so they're more usable.

  •
This feels like an oversight,
LMAO. An oversight? That's by design, bud. Where did you get the idea that Exotic gear was supposed to be good in this game? It's not. It's the shiny object directed at the 8 year old players to give the illusion of elite gear.

  • I just want the Kvostov (spelling?) exotic autorifle back from D1. Loved that gun in PvE and PvP even tho it wasn’t the best but I got real good with it

Sweet Business - requires a good energy weapon, so you can still kill after going out of ammo. Much better for pure boss damage than mobs. Kill mobs with energy weapon to regain kenetic ammo from kills. HardLight - Jeeze, if you think that screen shake is bad... Play any other shooter. A few BF4 guns jump incredibly spastically to the point that if you are trying to aim it, will cause migraines. Run energy stability mods. I guess. I really like both of these weapons. My current set up is: Sweet Business / Red Mamba or Nameless Midnight / HardLight HardLight is just strong. No damage drop, ricochet + piercing...AND able to change elements. Probably needs a nerf TBH. SweetBusiness, I feel like it could use a different perk than the "walk over ammo to load it" thing. Something along the lines of... "killing an enemy will automatically reload 10bullets into your magazine. That'd allow for more consistent chain-gunning while not directly pwning your "real" ammo, like the current one does.

    • Auto rifles for the most part have already been partly retired back to PVE, in PVP it is mainly mida multitool and launchers the pinch of swords. auto rifles need a slight Buff just to keep up

    • +1 Both of these guns are super fun. Sweet buisness is a blast to use.... untill you run out of ammo 30 seconds later. Hardlight, Choice of damage type, penetrating and ricocheting rounds are a blast to use and fun as -blam!-. Buuut the screen shake makes you want to vomit

      • The screen shake on Hardlight is probably because of the fact that it doesn't have damage fall off. No maximum range. It would be god like if it was as easy to aim.
Sweet Business - Magazine Size - Itty Bitty for a minigun Hardlight - Shakycam - Same reason people don't like Transformers
Sweet Business ---- Run a Titan with Actium War Rig ... you'll always have plenty in the mag. Some mods added to your armor help too. Hardlight ---- This was a problem in Y1 Destiny as well. They fixed it with some new perks later on that increased stability considerably. They stripped those away in D2. WTF. They fixed a broken gun and then set it back to broken again for D2.
