Suggested: Lost Sector Improvements

Ive been thinking about Destiny a lot recently and how I feel it could be improved. Ive already posted my suggestion for the Crucible and the vault storage system and i feel like on a roll, ideas just keep coming to me. lol If you want to read my other improvement please see the links below: [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/238059956?sort=0&page=0[/url] [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/238005501?sort=0&page=0[/url] But for this post specifically, Ive been thinking about how to improve the end game slightly, more specifically, Lost Sectors. Right now Lost Sectors only serve 2 purposes, provided average Loot and Token which is fine but they dont really give a challenge and I think they could be improved in the following way: [u][b]Suggested improvement.[/b][/u] [b]Difficulty settings[/b] Currently the Lost sectors are not challenging enough, and can be done quicker than public events, which is fine if your solo, you dont have top waste time dicking around and grab your stuff and leave, however this could be so much more with a diffculity setting that be be set by the Fireteam leader. The setting could be Heroic with a suggested power level of 280 and Nightmare with suggested power level of 300. [b]Heroic Mode[/b] The Heroic version of the Lost Sector should contain more Adds with the same HP and a few normal Captains and a slightly harder Mini boss, and give a small chance of a Exotic drop, a higher chance of a Legendary drop and more Tokens. [b]Nightmare Mode[/b] Would be an additional bump in difficulty and should contain the same Adds as Normal, but harder with every mob a Yellow bar elite version. The Boss should have double the HP and more damage, but mechanics should essentially stay the same. This is to punish players that think they can facetank a boss, and give a dangerous element. Players should feel like they have to hide and recover and fight from a cover to deal with the boss. As an additional mechanic maybe even add a rotating shield element to the boss, so that players have to change between, Void, Arc, and Solar damaging guns to ad an extra challenge. This mode could give a higher chance of an exoctic, a chance at double legendary drops and more token. Given the above I think the diminishing returns on Loot we currently have should be kept to encourage players to move to each of the lost sectors, rather than farming the same on over an over again.   • I love the idea of a difficulty slider, hell give each planet their own lost sector specific bit of gear that can only be acquired doing lost sectors in that planet. I never go back to them and it seems like wasted effort on bungies part because they lack replay value.

  • i think lost sectors in general were a bad idea, because: They probably had to put in a ton of work, like a lot of work to create all these locations but since there is no replayability value they are, in the long run, basically useless. Imagine if they would have put all this work into some pve activity like archons forge. They could have taken the locations of maybe 4 lost sectors and put an archons forge style arena in there. They could have then spent the work on making it rewarding and fun instead of creating like 20 more lost sectora where you run through once and never visit them again
