Golden Gun is already best for fast single target damage. That is of course you are using the precision skill tree where each precision generates orbs and does bonus damage.
The 6 shooter one is definitely for killing 3 majors in a row or 6 adds. Other than that, I dont touch that tree much even though I really like the reload perk on that tree.

Youre misunderstanding why Way of the Sharpshooter is better for damage. Your argument is focused on total damage. Which is the wrong basis to judge a super. The reason why Sharpshooter is better is because you can focus more damage in a single instance. Which then allows you to switch to something else. And its a ranged super. As for total damage, Arc staff is better for total damage assuming a boss is willing to stay in 1 place and get lobbed at. Of course, we all know, the bosses in this game dont take kindly to sitting 1 place. And they have a habit of teleporting. And some of the bosses are in hard to reach places. Goodluck using Arc Staff against that really big Shrieker.
