Just out of curiosity, why are you so passionate about faction ranks? Is it just so that you want to know how high it is, or am I missing something?
I understood it so that quality of the rewards stays the same no matter what rank you have. That's why you can't see any rank numbers in game.

To answer your question about why am I passionate about this, its because if ranks are reset at the end of events, it makes the events (for me and others I have spoke with) feel shallow... empty.. not worth doing because the rank isn't going to stay around. I know IB ranks always went from Rank 0-5 each event, but to have a ranking system with factions... and to reset them, it seems like just another way to cater to casual gamers who don't really care what their rank is. I mean, i would love to see my rank and throughout my time playing Destiny 2 rise. I know a guy who literally grinded that event till he was rank 70 or something like that with one of the factions. I believe the goal there was to eventually reach rank 100. But ... if they reset, his objective, his grind is being nut shot'd. With so little avenues within destiny 2 to grind, I totally agree with him, in that I would be honestly upset if ranks were indeed reset that the end of each event.
