Well, the revolvers in the original Destiny game through out the first year were inspired heavily by the chiapa rhino, which actually does fire from the chamber in the bottom position as opposed to the top position. I've kinda come to the conclusion that the hand cannons are firing some kind of concussive energy pulse as opposed to an actual gas propelled projectile. But yeah, someone modded a rhino by having it anodized black and bronze in a familiar way. This is a real gun. How ever due to the physical limitations of how rhino's are designed, (their firing mechanism and trigger assembly specifically) unlike the ingame counter part, you cannot fanfire it. But yeah. Basically the hand cannon has been stylized to look like a revolver, probably by hunters who imagine them selves as space cowboys like Mal Renolds (Cayde especially...for obvious reasons) but the object you slide into the cylinder upon reloading is a battery, and the projectile it's self is a beam of kinetic energy.

 • (Sidenote, the reason why the Chiappa Rhino fires from the bottom chamber instead of the top is because it controls muzzle lift, sending the shock strait up your arm instead of managing it with your wrist.... This means that with this specific weapon, unlike what you see in the games, there is effectively no recoil. There are only two or three weapons on the market designed this way...))
