Nothing really gets noticably easier The higher level you get. What exactly is support to be the incentive of continuing to level up? Just for The sake of it?
I cant tell a lick of a difference in doing The 240 Nightfall at 300 and 265. If anything its harder.
It would be Nice to actually feel more Powerful as you level up and get better loot. If being Light 250 using a Blue weapon is literally easier than doing The Nightfall at 300 With an exotic... What The hell is The incentive? Anyone? Better loot? For what? If it only means The challenge gets harder and harder you dont get to notice The Benefits.

1 ReplyHave you not heard of enemies scaling with you? I would imagine that if you reached a high level and everything got easier it would be so boring
-
7 RepliesPower (formerly Light) is just your height. That's it. A nightfall says 'you must be atleast this tall to enter', and your height must match or exceed it. Being taller doesn't make the event any different, it's just the requirement for admission.

1 ReplyI’m wondering too. Everything now is about getting higher power level. Now what about weapons. I’m 285 now. Is there (can’t tell myself...) a difference using a 280 vs a 285 weapon? My base power stay the same... so is that all that matters? Putting a weapon attack mod on a weapon is just to get my average power possibly higher?
-
D1 you actually felt powerful. This game you don't. But heh, atleast we got 50? Different types of shaders......

6 Replieswhat is the point of life

4 RepliesTry going up against 170 power enemies at 130 power.. or doing the calus encounter at 265ish, you will be one hit by most attacks
-
dude, we will get stronger. in destiny one you didn't hit for 20k right off the bad, it took several expansions for us to start doing that kind of damage.
-
I think it is just a requirement or standard by which to gauge what events you're allowed to participate in.
-
I think it really hampers The sense of progression that you Can enter a 240 rekommended activities at 305 and feel like you arent reaping Much if any Benefit from all The time sent leveling. I am aware that you feel The consequence of being under leveled. But being over leveled feels like it doesnt matter. Or... That it makes things harder
-
It's to make their game longer without them having to do much work. Bungie is a lazy game company and they try to cut corners.
-
4 RepliesThat way, you can be a snob and exclude people from your fire team if they aren't 290+.
-
True, but at least we can one punch kill a vandal now.

Edited by FLEXIBLE03: 9/29/2017 9:44:42 PMSo you can’t be carried into endgame with a low light level

For more grind
-
32 RepliesThey screwed up the new power level system with scaling, so you never feel more powerful, ever. Great move bungo...

Jeez, Our Generation spoke the truth!

6 RepliesI disagree. You can tell when you're overpowered for whatever activity you're doing. It does feel easier. As for why you too overpowered when you're 305 doing something where the recommended level is 220: they addressed this in d1 and it's cause the power level is scaled and capped. By that i mean, they cap the difference for us at around 10 levels higher than the activity we're doing. It's why it might still take you 2-3 shots to kill that intro red bar enemy even when you're max level. It's to keep us players from being too powerful and making the game too easy.

Currently if I are above the recommended then it’s all the same. Except in the raid where the recommendation is only for the beginning

Everything

The game scales to your PL. Im sure you can google the specifics. The point of leveling up tho is so you can complete end game stuff. Being under leveled hurts you a lot more than being over leveled would help.
-
The nightfall scales to your level so no matter what light you are it will always be a pain
-
It definitely has an effect, in the raid enemies go down quicker.

Activities scale directly to your current light. Pay tension to the recommended light the next time you die on a public event. I was playing as a 297, and on my death screen it said recommended light 297.
