WE NEED MORE THAN JUST 4v4 GAME MODES
A large portion of the destiny community would like to see more than just 4v4 game modes in destiny 2. It would be foolish to not have a free-for-all game mode (Rumble) in a game like destiny. Now I understand that all the maps have been created with 4v4 in mind, but if there's anyway to make a 6v6 game mode in the future please do it. Let's say i'm finishing a raid with my friends in a party of 5-6. Now the fireteam is gonna have to be split up because there is nothing else to play together in a fireteam of 6 (I assume). I am not complaining, I just think it's gonna be an issue for alot of people when the game releases.

I agree there should be more modes. I like what they have presented in Destiny 2 crucible and I want 4V4 game modes to stay and I want there to be a place for that and for the "yes I am beating you because I am truly of a higher skill level" crowds. YES THAT IS GOOD! But there should ALSO be other modes where we can just go NUTS and do whatever we want and be a troll if we would like to. THOSE MODES SHOULD HAVE A WARNING THAT TROLLS LIVE THERE AND IT IS A GAME MODE WHERE THOSE OF A LESSER SKILL LEVEL MAY BEAT YOU WITH CHEEP TACTICS. YES give the trolls a home where they too will be happy. JUST PUT A WARNING LABEL OVER THE DOORWAY.

6 RepliesI'm with you bud, I think they made a big mistake only having 4v4. I love the crucible in its purest form, that's basically no objectives just us killing each other. Clash and Skirmish played totally different from each other. Even different games of Skirmish had variety because of the different map sizes. If all the maps are geared toward 4v4 that means each game is going to play similar to each other. I want more variety not less it's one of the reasons I still play Destiny PVP and I also have more than 3 friends that I want to play with.

If nothing else, they need to bring back Rumble. It's not 6v6, it's 6 total so Lars' excuses (small 4v4 maps, netcode built for 4v4, etc.) don't fly. If nothing else, they could make it 4 player Rumble, though that seems boring. Very odd that in 2017 when other games can have so many other players in the lobby, Bungie is going backwards.

Why is this an issue if I'm not buying the game? I mean... I agree with you. 4v4 sucks royally. However, I learned all about this in beta and educated myself that D2 is a pile os shit with corn crusties.

How else would they be able to have DLC that includes "community favorites maps featuring 6v6?" I'm not saying I've seen that quote anywhere but since every AAA franchise brings back old maps as DLC (Gears of War...war machine made several appearances throughout the games. Call of Duty...boomtown was re-released) why wouldn't Destiny be the same? They have already shown they will take content away and sell it back in DLC (icebreaker). Why wouldn't 6v6 for PvP be the same?

Bungie wants their players to play more with each other and then continues to make pvp a 4v4 experience instead of just the good old 6v6. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 6v6 game modes and rumble return in an expansion/dlc.

They have this illusion Destiny will become like 343 having Pro championships some year. Not on how very little they have invested in this game. Having 4v4 only will be boring as hell knowing other games out there have twice as much. This company made a huge mistake if they think this slow mo with only 4v4 is going to bring gamers in.

I think keep 4v4 for competitive lobbies and 6v6 and rumble for quick play. This way both types of pvpers can be satisfied. I personally have no interest in sweaty 4v4 matches and will be skipping the crucible all together in D2 unless 6v6 and or rumble returns. Also please no weapon quests to try and force us into crucible this time.

Complaints and constructive criticism are fine; you aren't going crazy or illogical. I think rumble and 8v8s/vehicles would benefit the game greatly, making it a little more interesting.

I don't get why they chose 4v4. It's such a dumb decision in my mind. Bungie were the creators of the Invasion game mode for christ's sake, and they were the champions of vehicle combat for years. For them to first limit themselves to 6v6 in Destiny 1 and then go even further back to 4v4 in D2 is just sad. 4v4 is about as boring as you can get in an FPS. It doesn't make sense to do this in 2017 with all the competition out there. It doesn't even make sense within Destiny itself, where raid teams will now be forced to split up all the time. Bring back Big Team Battle and 12v12 game modes. Bring back 8-player free-for-all and all the iconic game modes Bungie is known for. I don't get why fans should be the ones reminding Bungie they were the kings of FPSs for like 3 years straight. It wasn't an accident, but they seem to have forgotten about it.

1 ReplyWe'll just have to see how 4v4 plays out in the Crucible. What i can't understand is why they haven't made Strikes and Missions fireteams of 4 to be consistent. Why leave PvE as fireteams of 3 if PvP is all 4? Seems very shortsighted to have some activities 3, some 4 some 6....

1 ReplyJust tossing this out there, but has anyone considered the deviation from the number 3? I was thinking, and I really wonder if the move to 4 might be a precursor to a new Class, and eventually 8 man activities; PvP and PvE. Just a weird thought I had, don't hate me.

1 ReplyOne way they could fix this issue, is queue your fireteam for whatever type you decide to play, and randomize the teams. That way as you play you could rotate playing with different players on your fireteam, without excluding the odd man/woman out.
