Titanfall 2 Tips for a Noob.

So I recently got Titanfall 2 based off advice from people here on #gaming and I loved the campaign. I just started multiplayer recently and was wondering if any Titanfall veterans have some tips as to what I should invest in gun, perk and Titan wise.

  • Make sure to get sandvich as soon as- wait, you meant Titanfall 2? Oh. Seriously, though, based off TF1 experience, stay moving, never be directly in front of a Titan (You'll get shot, punched into a meaty blood cloud, or get stepped on), don't use the R-101C (R-201, now, apparently) or you're a -blam!-ing unskilled waste of -blam!-ing molecules(Will I get banned for that?), and finally, wallrun. Always. -blam!-ing. Wallrun. Find nooks and crannies to hide in, lay down traps, and always move after a kill.

    • You can use credits (earned by playing the game) to buy weapons before they are unlocked at their level (you can buy the archer rocket and use it before level 45) I suggest buying either the G2 or the Hemlock. The G2 is a single shot weapon that can 3 hit on the torso The Hemlock is a 3 round burst rifle. If you take advantage of the recoil you can one hit people with it As for titans I enjoy scorch with the thermite shield perk. I love charging at an enemy titan and quite literally melt them with the shield

      • The first thing you need is the CAR SMG. Is that in Titanfall 2?

          • I use the ronin, and have found that unloading the shotgun, reloading while phase shifting behind them and then using act wave and unloading again. It's pretty effective.

            • I've only had the game a few days but this is what I've learned: Play to your titan's strengths. The titan I've mainly been using has been scorch. Since scorch has a massive instantaneous damage, with the primary shot, the gas can, and the firewall. Also, stick close to cover so you can pop in and out with your reloads. I found that it worked best staying behind the more aggressive titans like ronins and legions, while firing your thermite over their heads.

              • Find 2 Titans you like and keep using them to get good with them. Being a decent Titan pilot is the key to being a solid player. Don't ignore enemy pilots when your in your Titan. If you are in a bad spot or situation ( like a pilot hitting you from a spot that is hard to get him at or simply outnumbered) don't be afraid to run. Use your environment to your benefit. When you get rodeoed and you use your smoke look straight up in the sky ( and if possible back against wall) this will trap a pilot most of the time and he can't get out the smoke. Try to have fellow Titans backs. Watch for them being rodeoed and help them fight other Titans. Also if a Titan is fighting an enemy and you See an avenue to get on side or behind them do it.

              • G2 = Best gun in the game. Better than Hemlok.

                  • Learn to slide hop, and try the first smg and second anti Titan gun.. Also buy Tone, great Titan. Slide hopping is easy with a scuff or elite controller, just sprint to get speed and slide to start going really fast, then jump and immediately hit slide in the air. Then jump as soon as you hit the ground, hit slide again, etc. It's like Titan skating, you'll be crazy fast.

                    • Stay mobile and try to maintain verticality over both enemy Pilots and Titans. It really helps. Ronin is really good at taking out grunts and pilots.

                    • Hip fire! Most guns in the game are extremely accurate and do not require you to aim down sights. Keep moving, Titanfall is extremely fast paced and holding still to get that sick burst shot across the map is only asking to get yourself killed.

My personal favorites are Tone and Legion. They're real heavy hitters and are fairly versatile. Weapons, I've always been partial to M14 style rifles so the G2 was automatically my speed, but the Flatline is a nice reliable pilot killer as well. Secondaries are a give and take. I'm usually lugging around a Softball to chunk down titans and reapers, but if you want to stick to the pilots and and minions I like tge Mozambique. As far as kit and boost, I can't live without my grapple hook (why was this not in the first one) and a well timed maphack is always welcome.

                        • Pretty much it comes down to mastering mobility which you can get better at by simply playing. I personally have a preference to the alternator SMG myself though I know a friend who doesn't go without his LMG so I think guns are purely what you prefer. As for titan it's good to know their pros and cons and what range they are built for. Read up on their skills set and weaponry. A good example is while Northstar and Ronin are light armor titans they actually play pretty different. Ronin is an in your face hit and run while Northstar is a sniper.

                        • I feel like it's never good to try to jump immediately to "pro strats" that you see veteran players using. If you enjoy playing the game, experiment with everything to find what you're best with. The titans are extremely cheap to unlock so you can quickly unlock all of them to try them out
