Performance matters! Video game voice actors on strike

Please support the talents bringing your favorite characters to life. Master Chief, Cortana, Cayde, Commander Shepard & Sarah Palmer (Both Jennifer Hale)... Go sign the petition, or help pass on what this is about. If you're a gamer, this should matter to you in some way ;) Video games have become an art form in more ways than one. Voice acting can make or break a game. Voice acting is very different than acting on the big or small screens. Remember "That wizard came from the Moon"? If you want to know more about why SAG-AFTRA Members declared a video game strike, and which corporation/publishers will be affected, go here: https://www.sagaftra.org/files/whywestrike.pdf https://www.sagaftra.org/sag-aftra-members-declare-video-game-strike If you're too lazy to read, companies/corporations employing voice actors are trying to justify low pay, benefits and poor treatment on the job, as well as no contingent compensation (read below).
Contingent Compensation Unlike many other SAG-AFTRA contracts, there is currently NOT a contingent compensation structure on any video games. We’re asking for a reasonable performance bonus for every 2 million copies, or downloads sold, or 2 million unique subscribers to online-only games, with a cap at 8 million units/subscribers. That shakes out, potentially, to FOUR session payments per principal performer for the most successful games: 2 million, 4 million, 6 million and 8 million copies.
Those corporation employing voice actors claim it is a minimal percentage of creating a video game, therefore, actors don't deserve any residual... You can listen to a summary of the issues at stake in a recent Jennifer Hale interview here, she explains it all very well: http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2016/10/22/498954253/voice-actors-strike-against-video-game-companies Fun fact, Lord Saladin (Keith Ferguson) was also Bloo, for you old enough to remember Foster's House for Imaginary Friends... Now that's range ;) Who is your favorite voice in video games?
