Edited by TeddyBundy: 10/15/2016 9:18:28 AMHe's absolutely right, at least for PvP. Of course PvE is much better now. But PvP was 10times more fun in Y1 even though I was a complete noob back then. No SBMM bullshit. No Bloom bullshit. Both destroyed PvP. Simple. YES, there were op weapons and YES, they deserved those nerfs (Shot Package, Final Round Snipers, Thorn, TLW, Vex, etc.)...but the fact that those weapons dominated didn't destroy PvP at all. It was annoying, yes. But at least every weapon felt good in terms of consistency. Weapon changes were necessary...but not basic changes to consistency and matchmaking. Both destroyed the perfect base to build up upon.

Destiny right now is an infinitely better game than it was 2 years ago. Don't let the luddites and their member berries put you off, if it had stayed the same as it was in year 1 there would be no-one left on these forums to comment.
-
Year 1 was terrible compared to now, everything about year 1 was worse than anything in year 3. The raids were subpar, the weapons were completely unbalanced, the grind was too long and not rewarding enough, and there was a shit upgrade system. Anyone who says otherwise is in complete denial. They took everything from year 1 and made it better.
-
I only miss the Supremacy Sniper from the Queen from Y1, I deeply regret dismantling it.
-
My money.
-
Only people who weren't there say dumb shit like this.........you casual, lazy millennials wouldn't last a week in that grindfest
-
Year 1 Sunsinger. Sigh
-
I miss elemental damage on primaries.... Vog, I have recently switched from Psn to Xbone and have missed Vog and Crota's End both raids were better than the new one's by the look of it.
-
If you think y1 was balanced you couldn't be more wrong. Y1 felt balanced because of really no reason scouts were unusable, Vex was the king of kings, suros was close, shotguns could kill from mid range, fusions actually needed a nerf, supers were too super (I'm looking at bladedancer damage mitigation), snipers for the most part couldn't complete no matter skill (felwinter doesn't actually count as a sniper despite the stupid range), shotpackge and rangefinder could roll at the same time, and worst of all only three weapons were used. Here in y2-3 there's significantly more diversity (except for the shotgun area), everything can compete, and supers are still super but not super immune. Sometimes the past needs to stay the past no matter how much I miss field scout in PvE, or even having phogoth be the most difficult strike without cheese.

bring year 1 back T_T
-
Not because of the content, just the weapons. shits just too slow now
-
Greatest thing about year one was.....
no rng/ghost bullets
-
No. I may be criticized, but Destiny, the story, the content, the RNG, is all better now. Except PvP. PvP is shit.
-
Yes I very much so miss my jewel of Osiris adept with solar burn, I miss ice breaker and vex. I miss praedyths revenge and corrective measure, I miss old trials being fun.
-
I had one more fun in year one. I played way more hours. Year one I could come home from school and play and not want to get off until I went to sleep. 2 and a half months after taken king cam out I had to stop playing. I didn't play until last August. I still think year one was alot more fun.
-
Edited by Gray Sox: 10/14/2016 5:49:17 PMHis logic is super flawed. "Nothing is op anymore because things were more op" No. Because of numerous nerfs, the "op" bar was lowered. It's overpowered in comparison to the rest of the sandbox then it's OP. That isn't debatable. Thats literally how it works. Also the 2.0 meta was the best. That, but with Sunbreaker in line and Crucible would be fun again.
-
Hell no. So much more shit to do now. Why would I go back to less content.
-
Year one was fun, but they have introduced and fixed alot of issues and complaints. Also I like having some of the new exotics and legendaries. Of course this is all purely my opinion, but I think destiny is better now than its ever been. New shaders, sparrows, ships, weapons and armor, I like the new ornaments, better loot drop in IB, Trials of Osiris bounties aren't crazy and gold is daily (when trials is up I mean) , cool new levels. Legendary marks instead of two separate currencies (after they increased the legendary mark drop rate I mean) etc etc etc... Now I would like to have seen a few more strikes and maybe one more raid before Destiny 2 comes out. But overall I'm pretty pleased with me and my little clans experience with Destiny up to now....... And I hope it just keeps improving
-
Year one was the thrill of getting to proper level to raid, and finishing the raid for the first time. Grinding bounties for the exotic weapon you still needed. Getting the voc or fatebringer in hopes you would get the peice of raid gear you were missing. A side note completing vog for the first time was one of my favorite experiences in all of gaming. It felt like I was a kid again.
-
All people did in year one was complain about the meta. Now all people do is complain the game isn't identical to year one. Can you people make up your minds
-
PVP wasn't didn't make me nearly as salty in Y2. But the only other upside was having VoG in the mix.

Edited by quadracer786: 10/14/2016 4:19:39 PMY1 wasnt balanced but the engagement in crucible was far better and thats the point hes trying to make. Right now the crucible rewards rushing the enemy more than precision fire. I definitely dont want to go back to the thorn and suros meta, but i wish the crucible in general would go back that sort of play style

Edited by Captain_Yankz: 10/13/2016 8:33:44 PMWithout a shadow of a doubt, Year One was the best experience I've ever had in Destiny. After Patch 2.0, that's where things became awful. It didn't feel fun anymore, that patch sucked the joy out of getting a headshot with a handcannon, or two bursting someone with a pulse rifle. I want my fun back, not this soul sucking grindfest.
-
My Fulcrum still mattered, so hell yeah.
-
No swords, No Radegast artifact, No deal.
-
No. I'm not going back to spending a bajillion hours just to grab a few spinmetal.
