Need to ask someone for some help with a speeding ticket 68+ in a 65. If you are a police officer or lawyer or anyone that can give me sound advice, please reply.
Edit: the reason I went 68 was because I was actually passing the police officer. I had been following him for some time. Eventually I moved into the left and was going to pass the officer going 65. He obviously didn't like that, so he sped up to probably about 70 got within 2 feet of the car in front of him and cut me off leaving probably a foot between us. So I honked because that was dangerous. Same thing happened 2 minutes later. He did the same thing, but I was going slightly faster as I d8d not want him to do another dangerous move and possibly hit me. As soon as I passed him, he jerk ed the wheel, cut off the guy behind me and was so close to me I couldn't even see his lights, just the bottom of the windshield. Basically the cop was driving dangerously. I didn't want to be behind him. There was no traffic. And for people saying don't speed, let's really be honest. If everyone who sped by 5 MPH over the speed limit got a ticket, every driver below the age of 82 would get a ticket right now. The average speed on a 65 road for the average driver is 70. Don't get all high and mighty on me here. I've drove past cops going 5 MPH over probably 1000 times. I also have a radar so I know when I'm being clocked. Last time I got pulled over it was for doing 35 in a 40 during blizzard for driving too slow. So you tell me, wtf am I supposed to do. Because I can not stare at my speedometer to.make sure it reads the speed limit every second I'm driving.
Edit 2. For people saying I could have slowed down instead and stayed well behind the officer. One of my last pull overs was for going 35 in a 40 during a blizzard for going too slow. So supposedly I've been told I'm required to drive the exact speed limit at all times if no other car is in front of you. Which would have forced me to be directly behind or to the side of the police officer. So I went slightly faster to be in front of the police officer instead of behind him. And there was another car in front of him going at least 68 since he said he said he was going 67 when I passed him, and there was a car right in front of him. He just didn't like that I passed him. I know how the law works. But I'd think after 100 years of cars being on the road, the people in the government in charge of laws could do a better job at making realistic laws.

Edited by Coopski: 9/19/2016 6:56:41 PMDon't pass a cop period. It's actually pretty simple. Yes they should follow the rules and yes they break them and speed more than anyone else. However, it's still common sense that you don't pass them.

Either really bad bait or you're an idiot...or perhaps both.

You were speeding. You have no camera to show the officers actions. Guilty........

I would find these stories hard to believe on a forum dedicated to talking about speeding tickets. On a gaming forum this is just ridiculous.

2 RepliesBruh.. What are you doing on these forums?

1 ReplyYou obviously have no idea what the rules of the road are. 1, you are supposed to adjust your speed in a blizzard, even in a chained up 4×4 you're supposed to lower your speed. 2, it doesn't matter your reason for speeding, you were still speeding. Your problem with the officers behavior in that instance could have been dealt with by simply letting him know you wish to have a highway patrol present (you didn't specify what sort of officer he was, so if he was a black and white he had no true jurisdiction to pull you over on a highway or many freeways for that matter) and you could have explained the actions you saw the officer taking, you can still contact the officer in charge of said officers division and file a report in which time his dash cams will be reviewed for his wreckless driving. You dropped the ball every step of the way by kit following the rules of the road and by not knowing your rights when pulled over. As someone who has done work on roads in blizzard conditions I hope you have your license revoked for ever driving like that in dangerous conditions.

7 Replies1. Never pass a police officer. 2. You honked at a police car? No excuses that's just dumb... 3. Unless you have a camera in your car showing he was driving crazy, you are screwed. 4. If you were driving even 1 mph over the speed limit you earned the ticket. Yes most police officers give you 5-10 mph, but after you jammed him twice and honked at him you earned it. 5. This story has to be made up cause no one is that clueless.

Edited by blazingenchantr: 9/19/2016 4:30:03 PMWere you riding a sparrow? Also, this is 100% your fault and acting foolish is not going to help you get rid of your ticket.

It's a cop. You can't rage with a pig. They have guns and will shoot anyone they don't like cause they get paid time off when they body someone..
-
Cop was an asshole but I always avoid police officers on the road and switch to cruise control.
-
3 RepliesWow, you must have really pissed that officer off if he gave you a ticket for going 3 mph over the limit. Just pay it. You won't win if you challenge it, and you'll just make it worse. Be polite in court, they'll probably reduce your ticket if it's your first offense.
-
12 RepliesTalk to the DA get it reduced to a non moving violation, no points to your license, still have to pay a fine though.
-
Paying the fine will be cheaper than trying to fight it, and it's not like you're losing points for going 3 over.
-
Most lawyers can make it so the ticket won't go on record, but that is about it. Also #Offtopic

3 RepliesYeah Pay the ticket Use cruise control And DO NOT SPEED
