Twilight Gap: lore

Twilight gap: I'm sure by now you've all heard about the infamous Twilight gap. But let me tell you the full story, from the start to the end. It all begins with the house of kings. The House of Kings is the mysterious house that tries endlessly to take back the traveler, and have come close to defeating the city twice. According to Prince Uldren, they control the House of Devils from the shadows and it was the Devils that were the tip of the spear in the battle of Twilight gap. The Kell of Kings gathered the Houses of Devils, Winter, and Wolves to attack the city, hoping that they could win through brute force and strength in numbers. The first signs of the fallen growing bolder was at the crucible map "Frontier". This was originally a lookout post that was decommissioned in the face of growing fallen attacks. By this time the fallen houses had made the plan and moved to begin the attack to reclaim the traveler. The battle began when the united fallen houses formed along the city perimeter and had their walkers exchange fire with the wall's defenses. The fallen pushed forward and the guardians pushed back with Lord Saladin Forge leading the defense, but the fallen eventually overran a section of the city's defenses. This is the place we now know as Twilight gap. Though the fallen were ruthless and precise with the attack, they could not re-spawn like the guardians could and they didn't have the same powers that guardians wielded. With slowly turning tides, Shaxx lead the counter attack that would push the fallen back off the walls and ultimately bring about a victory to the battle of Twilight gap. This wasn't supposed to be the case however. The fallen House of Wolves was supposed to come in a little later in the battle to assure absolute victory and keep the fallen numbers strong. However they were intercepted by the queen in the reef, which lead to the reef wars. It is believed the fallen would have been successful if the wolves had only made it. So of all the heroes of Twilight gap, Mara Sov and her people were the greatest. From this battle came many things. Lord Shaxx, hero of Twilight gap, stepped off the battlefield and took over the crucible in fear of another fallen attack of Twilight gap's scale that we would not be able to fend off. The crucible was created to harden Guardians before they even step foot on the battle field, and he wanted to improve it. Lord Saladin Forge, Iron Lord and hero of twilight gap, Started a secondary event called the Iron banner in the crucible to further guardians' training. Other known characters include Banshee-44, Ana Bray, and Arcite 99-40, who also took part in Twilight gap. The Exotic weapon Gjallarhorn was created by Feizel Crux who made the weapon out of the armor of those who fell at Twilight gap. The vanguard began to launch strikes on key enemy targets to make sure that the fallen remained weak or at least without leadership. Effectively stuffing the fallen back into the holes they crawled out of and ruining the Kings' plan to take back the traveler. And that is the tale of twilight gap. I hope you learned a little something new.
To lore master post: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/206388637
