Did I miss something. I used to pick on kids who played Pokémon. They would meet in the gym and battle or show their cards to one another. When did animated monsters become a thing? My son even collects this crap. I just don't get it.

Ikr, pokemon used to be for nerds
-
So because you thought it was poor you thought no one liked it?
-
I'm more surprised by how many people my age are playing it.
-
It's almost like people's social treatment of people that play video games is improving and that that's a good thing or something.
-
I'm a gamer also, I guess I only let my nerd flag fly so far.
-
Sounds like you use to be a bully
-
Idk if I'd say bully. We had social classes like I'm sure every highschool had.
-
I don't think mine has social classes. But there are a lot of fights and stuff at mine
-
Are you 50?
-
Almost

Well. It all started with the games. They were little video games you played on glorified flip phones. You went through a world where you catch animals and use them to fight gyms where you gain badges. Once you collect all the badges in a region(game) you fight the strongest 4 people in that game. To us, it was amazing. They were one of the best games ever. There is also movies, a card game, and a TV series. This new game is called Pokemon Go. You use your phone. You are the controller. Where you walk your in game character walks. You must go around and catch Pokemon to make yours stranger and possibly evolve them (Imagine insta-puberty.) You can choose 1 of 3 teams and battle for gyms. A gym is a significant real world place. All in all, the game is quite fun. People play it for nostalgia, fun, or exercise. You don't have to know Pokemon to play it.

Lol I know right. I see grown men and women playing the game everywhere.

Being a "young" adult, this whas a dream for me as a kid. That's why I play it. :)
