I can't promise that I'd troll as hard as DeeJ, but I'll give my best to not disappoint you!
Maybe DeeJ can give me some lessons? He seems to be on a pretty sophisticated level.

Send them a letter with 5 pounds and a wink wink, hopefully they say yes!

Get a life, the joke was funny

Deej is a release valve for this communities anger, utilized by Bungie. Nothing more. People need to stop believing he is important in any way. Hes not.

Personally, you could tell it was a joke. Nothing more. A response to a ridiculous ploy that I believe was in humor. I am salty as well, but think some humor in the process helps. It is clear that Bungie as a whole has failed the community with piss poor management of the game from the start. Deej is in the middle, while at times he is condescending, week after week he is forced to talk about nothing relevant. What choice does he have when the studio behind him fails to deliver content or continuously makes bad decisions related to the game? Slow walk each week to knowingly get nothing but salt, so he tries to lighten the mood I believe. Not defending him at all, just throwing in my viewpoint. Granted it is his job, but it would kinda suck being stuck in the role with the failings of this studio on this title to date. Not monetary failings either, but living up to expectations based on company history.

But it was hilarious. WoW blogs and such used to do that all the time. Example: some (idiotic) players wanted 2h weapon using Shaman to come back for years (they dual wield now, have since 2006). Cue a developer blog where at the end it said something along the lines of "PS: GC (head dev at the time) uses a 2h Shaman." Funny as hell. Community needs to get over themselves.
