Still think The Division is gonna kill Destiny?
I tried to tell people what it's really like and got hate mail so much I got a new mailbox!
But seriously tho..... Told ya!
I like the Division, I'll play it. But its not Destiny. Not even close.

To be honest the only thing really similar between the games is a the grind and loot. Other than that they are kinda 2 different games.

Destiny doesn't need another game to kill itself as Bungie is doping that job perfectly with Luke Smith in the driving seat. The Division will gather a huge chunk of Destiny players to itself. Like it or not. Until then Bungie will do more damage to Destiny. Some things never change :)

To me, destiny killed itself. In about early November I got bored with it. There were a ton of games on sale for Black Friday on the Xbox store, I mean really great sales. So I snagged them. Then Fallout 4 came out and that was the biggest time suck to me. Those games I had bought I have been playing off and on. Then I've also been playing Dying Light a lot getting ready for the upcoming DLC. So for me it's not that destiny sucks or is horrible, or whatever. It's that there is no content right now for me. I've done everything, over, and over, and over, and over again. I loved destiny, and will again when they drop more content, but it's going to take a back seat for a long time. Too many other great games to play and catch up on. Too many great games coming out this year. So I have plenty of content to play while bungie gets their shit together and decides what to do. If people are still playing it, great. Enjoy it. Doesn't bother me what you play. I would only suggest trying out other games. There is just so much good stuff out there. Anyway, game on. Have fun. That's all that matters.

Probably not, I'm not saying destiny won't be killed at some point, seeing as how it's already a walking corpse, but the division looks like it's gonna end up a modern day destiny in third person.

They are different games. After playing the beta all weekend with friends, I can say it won't replace Destiny. But it will drag people away for a time, some may even chose to give up playing Destiny as it's hard to dedicate time to more than one RPG/MMO'ish game at once. But personally, I think I really like the fact that there are two games now in this kind of broad category. I can see myself having fun with, and bouncing between both to occupy time on a weekly basis. With Destiny in a bit of a content draught at the moment, this fills a nice portion and provides variety in alternate game play. If you check out the Division Beta Forums, you will see plenty of complainers, JUST like Destiny. But plenty of good things about it too. Btw, this (video) was earlier today while minding my own business in DZ solo. Fun lol.

The only thing that will kill destiny is a change to the gameplay. That's why people play it so much. If they change that people will leave.

2 RepliesYou can't judge it by a 10% beta its a game that has something for everyone crafting, cover based shooter ( gears of war fans will love it ) base building scavenging open world PvP, weapon customization and probably much more that hasn't been revealed. Sure its ubisoft so what?

Yes it will for a time cuz it something fresh and new. People will want to try it. For a short time destiny is going to see a huge drop in logins. Plus Destiny doesn't have anymore content slated.

Careful this is where you will get the "can't judge by % gameplay stuff. Have not played myself, did not want to miss IB, but with the game this close to release what people are seeing is what they will be getting. And so far 85% of what I have heard meh at best.
