I had the same issue. I realized in the middle of the run that I had the wrong character. So I switched to take the appropriate one , and when the nightfall finished, my referee validated the quest but not me. What shall I do now then to finish my quest ? Any insights OP ?

can't believe this is still an issue. just completed the last step (or so I thought) Thursday night 3/16/20017. Was on the correct character and did it 3 times and still shows as not completed seriously Bungie WTF the game has been out how long and you still have issues like this no wonder no one really plays this game anymore.

I'll try again next week with the one who failed, even if not specified, you apparently have to start and finish the Nightfall with the same character. You cannot switch in the middle of the run. You probably still can redo it on the same week though, I didn't try.
