Be honest! Let's see how many guardians are in denial about their skills.

I use MIDA, but other Scout Rifles suck!

I'm trash, but I'm trash that uses weapons because I like them, and not because fifteen thousand tweens on an Internet forum are raving about it being OP in the same breath as they whine about the last thing they thought was OP getting nerfed.

2,300 votes. Of those, 1,268 players use the meta and believe it has not improved their stats from where they would be if they weren't using the meta. Only 189 admit the meta improves their stats. 649 don't use the meta. 176 use Truth.

I've been able to adapt and do good in any meta, but I'm coming off on 1k Stare withdrawal. Finally got the spindle yesterday and it's beautiful

Edited by VinnieVince: 1/7/2016 4:40:57 PMI use mida and TLW mostly ad primaries but I've used mida before all recent patches and the same with TLW (but after the ads glitch with damage buff got patched) so I wouldn't say I'm using the meta. Do use my hawksaw much less since the last nerf. About 1000 yard: it's basically the only viable sniper able to res snipe that doesn't have the shitty omolon scopes and is usable across multiple characters. I would love to see more y2 snipers within that archetype

Id say im decent at crucible. I usually try to stray away from the Meta but i used MIDA before it all these accusations of it being OP and shit
-
stats have very slightly went down lately but i pin most of the blame on the fact I've been playing other games and arc blade is terribly inconsistent. I use TLW, btw.

Thousand yard stare really isn't that over powered all of that shit about aim assist is just that shit it doesn't aim for you all it does is slightly slow down your reticle while aiming over a person heck LDR1001 was way more over powered the reason people complain about thousand yard is because literally everyone has it due to it being a reward from an integral quest

I use my favourite guns no matter what. Mainly HCs which before the last patch was pure hell!! But I hate it when bungie likes to dictate us what we should use!!

I have been an Auto/shotgun User since beta, I just like the way they feel and it suits my run and gun play style I know at one time Autos were the meta. (Any one else remember the Suros Regime Meta) But even after the great Auto Nerf I still used them because I enjoy them. I took it as a challenge to still compete even though they were curb stomped by bungie. and every other gun out performed them Now everyone will probably call me a shotgun noob and they were dominant for a very long time but I enjoy using them. To me rushing, flanking and trying to out maneuver my opponent is more fun than the other specials, truth is bungie could nerf them into oblivion and I'll still use them The point is if you enjoy a weapon, then use it, who cares if its good or not just like autos your weapon can go from meta to rock bottom as bungie continues to try to balance there game.

Problem is that most people "like" to use weapons that make them win. They like to win. They hate losing. And so when they choose to use weapons they like? It's mostly going to be the weapon that makes them win. 9 times out of 10 that's going to be the meta. Why would they switch to something that will "make them lose"? How is that fun? For most it's an incredible predicament. I've used Hard Light since the day I got it. It's my favorite weapon in the game. I was the creator for the petition to get Hard Light a year 2 version. It had over 10,000 responses. I like to think I had an important role in keeping the weapon alive. The weapon sucks, though. Bungie has kept it nerfed into the ground. The average K/D of a Hard Light user is 20% lower than the average K/D of a MIDA or TLW user. That doesn't phase me, I don't want to switch weapons just to win! I want to fill people with liquid light! So, hypothetically, would I switch away from Hard Light if it became the meta? If it became overpowered would I all the sudden feel dirty using it? Not really. I would enjoy finally having an edge against others while using my weapon of choice. I would be disappointed in seeing more people switching to it, who aren't true day 1 Hard Light users, but nevertheless, it wouldn't stop me. The joy of using the gun, for me, is how it feels, not how it performs. I like the design of the weapon, I love the sound effects and the visual display when firing it. I would hate for it to be overpowered and for people to accuse me of being carried by Hard Light. It's not my fault if Bungie overpowers something. Needless to say, this is a long post. I can see both sides of the argument, and I don't think it's as cut and dry. Use whatever gun you enjoy using, because our time on this earth is short and if you choose to spend it playing a video game, you should be having fun as best you can. I hate that 1/4 of all Trials kills comes from 1000 yard stare. I hate that another 1/4 of all Trials kills comes from TLW and MIDA. But, I don't want everyone to suffer. Use what you want. I would likewise encourage people to try to find other weapons to use. Add some variety. Make a weapon your own and stick to it like I have with Hard Light and Hitchhiker. Finding something unique is really a blast, especially when you get good at it and excel against others who haven't.

Hate these posts. Muted.

How about "I don't care what the meta is I'll use whatever guns I want"
-
most effective weapon I've used in crucible is Atheon's Epilogue, especially in Mayhem
-
Should we start calling you Tiny Tim?
-
How about nothing? One, I have none of those "crutches". But I do know that they are not crutches. They are actually balanced weapons. Bungie needed everything to the ground so they are the only viable option.
-
Been using an auto rifle in my last few games and actually did pretty well. Enjoying them once again!
-
I use autorifles lol. I love them.
-
Uhh how about I use an auto rifle.
-
I'm tried tlw last night. It feels cheap hipfiring and still getting kills faster than the opponent. I didn't do great with it nor was it fun to use. I used to main it back in thorn vs. TLW days and loved it then. I had to change how I used to use it and hip fire it more.

This is biased as -blam!-

I picked option 1

2 RepliesPeople through this term around a lot on these forums, but who here actually knows what meta means?

3 RepliesWow so people think that going with trend is dirty. #ProudToBeDirty

1 ReplyI just like to see what weapons can beat the current meta. Right now? My haakons hatchet or eyasluna. Also pistol whipping works on shotgunners and snipers
