my husband and I are at home on the same network, both xbox ones are hardwired. as of last night, suddenly every time he and i send one another a game invite or try to join each other's games, we both get kicked back to orbit. if we join in orbit, one or both of us gets kicked as soon as we spawn into a strike or mission. we tried restarting the game, tried rebooting our xboxes, still get kicked to orbit when trying to join one another. fine, we figured it was just something weird that would resolve itself and we kept playing separate.
this morning, i had no issues playing with other friends of mine, so i thought the issue had indeed resolved itself, but now tonight again, he's trying to do the Sunless Cell for his exotic sword and every time he enters the strike, people are trying to hook up via party or game chat so they can coordinate which Warden to kill and whatnot and every single time he gets an invite from some rando, whether it be party or game, he gets kicked back to orbit. we're not sure what we can do to stop this from happening (is there a way to play this game and yet make it so that people can't even send you an invite??), but has anyone else experienced this before?

The same thing happens to me, but my system is the only one on this network and I have great connection, it's hardwired

4 RepliesHi QuiscalusMajor, Are you still encountering this issue? If so, you may want to take a look at our Network Troubleshooting Guide as it includes some steps to try to improve your connection. Here is a link to a page I think might be especially helpful: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13612

1 ReplyPart of the issue is that this is a completely online game and both your consoles are likely reporting the same IP to the gaming service. When data is processed at both ends it gets jumbled since its for the same target IP. You can check on the XBox forums for ways around this, but one way is to have your ISP provide you with more than one external IP and then configure each IP to process to each XBox Another is to get a second modem from the ISP and configure them differently so they are both in home but on their own external network configurations. It used to almost be impossible for 2 like consoles to even be on XBL on the same home network at one time, but there are tricks to try and work around it.
