PS3 2.0 update download error
Most likely a large amount of you PS3 players like me have received error code 80710723. Bump so bungie can see

Edit 4: already got a bungie employees reply but now up to 100+ replies. Keep it up people they need to see we are not happy on playstation 3 and we deserve to enjoy to content like the rest of the gaming community
Edit 5: bungie these numbers are rising and Sony seems to be perfectly fine. Please take responsibility for the fact that your enterprise was not ready first off to allow this many people to download such a large update with very little servers to support it. I would recommend you communicate with your community and with Sony to fix these issues. You have a lot of unhappy customers
Edit 6: bungie stop throwing the blame at Sony please we all know you guys are to blame for this. I was able to update my dark souls without any issues, you need to get this fixed

3 different PS3 consoles, 2 distinct Internet providers and no luck getting update after several hours. 1st gen PS3 has been going for about 4h with ~2-1/2h remaining at 70% (fingers crossed). Possible that Sony is (at least partly) to blame -- same errors trying to update Playstation Store or Netflix (22MB). Bah!

Been trying to dl since 6pm edt... Rec'd error codes at least 10 times, have plenty of hd space, cable conn, even hard wired to modem.. Finally got to 50% but afraid to hope after all the other posts I've read.. Already preordered TTK... Lucky for Bungie cause after today, I probably wouldn't have.

I have 186GB of free space. My internet is great and it's hard wired to my PS3. I've been trying since 1:15 pm EST. The closest I got was 83%. I've had to restart over 20 times. It's finally making some progress, but now I'm calling it a night. This has been a disaster!!!

1 ReplyDownloading at84% after five hours then only 1mb an hour is downloading and my interns is running at 16.5 MB. Please give us more server space, even just for today, obviously too many people, after this if this download crashes I will no longer play this game.. Please slow us the space just today. Everyone knows there is more space aloted.. Use some server space from halo. It's old anyway. Please and thank u

The best I've gotten to is 12%, other than that it has never even reached 2%. Keep getting the same error you do.

If we can't download this patch, we can't play the DLC. Fix it before you lose money/customers, Bungie.

Umm yea..ps3..enough space fast internet, been stuck on 59% for 2 hrs now..I wish I got an error code at this point..bungie what r u guys doing over there, if ya wasnt fully ready why did u drop this 2.0, u now hav hundreds if not thousands of people who cant play even the old destiny..u hav all the pre ordered money in ur pockets yet u cant get ur service on point, bad way to start a launch of whats suppose to be a great game, turns into people thinking twice about even buying the game..we need an update fast, not directions on how to install, I mean really, we can read and now the requirements, get it together guys and fast...

Not impressed since 11am pst trying to download a update , I expected some lag in game due to high volume of players but this is silly been playing other mmo like WoW and Eve for many years and have been thru crashes ,lag unable to log in BUT it is after I install the patch and it usually hot fixed fairly quick and the company always gives us a Lil info on what's going on and how long they expect it before it is fixed .

I've been trying to download for 10 and a half hours with no luck. On the first try it was my console's fault; it froze and I had to restart. Okay, no big deal. But the consequent three times have all been met with error codes after I get anywhere past 50% downloaded. My internet is fine, and I have plenty of space, so neither of those are the reasons. So it must be with Bungie. And yes, I do in fact understand that everyone is trying to download the patch at the same time, thus causing DL times to be long and drawn-out. What irks me is the fact that I have not been able to find a suitable response from Bungie on the matter. I'm still going to play the game; I've put too much time and effort into it to just quit now. But when I'm promised something, it'd be nice to be delivered on that promise.

I have an amazing connection and i have a 120gb ps3 so its the file system they need to fix it and my ps3 got pretty hot trying to download the damn thing

Tried since release today at noon...Its now 11.30 pm Error (80710723) with an 8611MB update it only takes about 300 minutes to realize Failed to update (80710723) First fail at 52% , Then i dunno went to sleep to wake to error code . FIX please .

I started my first attempt at 2pm edt over wireless connection. I am now on attempt 8 at 10:42pm and I switched to an ethernet connection after the third attempt. I am having no networking issues locally or with anything else PSN related. This error code 80710723 is bs. They need to spin up a few more machines and spread this thing out more to lessen the burden. I've made it to 47% a few times but as I do the timer is always creeping up into the 145-150 min range then it times out. This one is currently at 38% with 56 minutes remaining on the timer so perhaps others are backing out for the night. We'll see.

2 RepliesWow Bungie, just wow... I'm done, probably won't play for a while. Never have I felt so much frustration towards a game, at times it's unbalanced and at times the servers don't work. All the money and the expectations and the support being thrown at you guys, and still, you all can't properly deliver satisfying results. Everyone can see your flaws, stop and think if this is the best that Bungie can do. Show me your A game. Are we, the players, just a bunch of users towards you all, or do you see use as fellow gamers? See Destiny from our view. Am I overreacting to this little issue, most likely, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. My thoughts are all jumbled up and I need to step out, need to see if Destiny is something worth coming back to. Sayonara.
