PS3 2.0 update download error
Most likely a large amount of you PS3 players like me have received error code 80710723. Bump so bungie can see

Edit 3: we got a response from bungie and they know what error code we are receiving, thank you for all the bumps and replies people you may just speed this up for everyone <3
Edit 4: already got a bungie employees reply but now up to 100+ replies. Keep it up people they need to see we are not happy on playstation 3 and we deserve to enjoy to content like the rest of the gaming community
Edit 5: bungie these numbers are rising and Sony seems to be perfectly fine. Please take responsibility for the fact that your enterprise was not ready first off to allow this many people to download such a large update with very little servers to support it. I would recommend you communicate with your community and with Sony to fix these issues. You have a lot of unhappy customers
Edit 6: bungie stop throwing the blame at Sony please we all know you guys are to blame for this. I was able to update my dark souls without any issues, you need to get this fixed

5 RepliesPeople I got mine to download and I think what you have to do is disable the media server on your connection settings. This is all I did. I was using a wired connection but once I switched the media server off it downloaded much faster and actually finished. Took hours but worked.

It happened to me twice. The first time I was at 60% the second time was over night. Plus, I have pretty fast internet and it seems to be taking waaaaay too long

Haven't got any error codes (yet), but it indicated I needed another 3500mb of free space for download. No big deal, deleted a couple of downloaded games and freed up around 5500mb. Tried again and it indicated I needed another 2500mb of free space?? Deleted another 4500mb and it said I needed another 500mb of free space. Restarted unit and then it said I needed 4000mb free space???WTH Don't think my issue is Bungie yet, but it's frustrating.

2 RepliesHello all, forget this patch its not important. What is important, is getting the attention of bungie and MAKING them fix our problems at its core. Downloading and installing a patch isn't nearly what we go through on a daily basis. Whether its PvP or PvE it never seizes to fail, disconnect x100. PvP isn't so bad, but PvE? Ridiculous. Makes me want to break my TV, but then I remember, its not my internet, and it doesn't mean my disk is scratched. No Guardians, this is the work of Destiny. You've hired great artist, now hire better technicians to operate your creations servers. You will lose half of your customers as well as investment into the game because of your mistakes. Fix it before it is too late. This gameplay is UNACCEPTABLE

5 RepliesI heard its not Bungies fault, I heard its PSN, and I heard PSN is blaming it on Bungie. I pushed update, it took 2 hours then it installed, took maybe another half hour. Not bad, played, yada yada yada, all I can tell you is, make sure you got room for it, its pretty big (that's what she said) and of course, make sure you love god! Hope it works for you. Happy gaming!

Lol I only got it once (it got stuck at around 20%) and just left it on during the night and when I woke up it was done downloading!

Edited by Hammered303: 9/9/2015 7:08:37 AM4 failed attempts with the same error code as above, then gave up... thought i would put it on overnight (am in france) and when i woke this morning it was on 89%, then it crashed with same error as previously. is there any way you can put it into smaller packets, 8.6 gb is too damn big for a one off download. love the game but i'm getting short on patience now.... Tried again now four times this morning and the same error.... what is going on?

Im on my fourth try even using my Ethernet cable this time, took about 6hours to get to 65%,I'm not even at the transferring data yet..

Bungie can you please just let us know when this is fixed?(I don't know if this is your fault or not) I've been playing this since day one and I don't want this to be the end of the game I enjoy immensely.

I think the update comes with the year 2 patch, the cure for cancer, the location of the Holy Grail, and the real Elvis Presley's new album... For that you betcha I can wait 6+ hours at 80%!

I'm really happy that this is trending, I tried already three times, at about 60%-90% the update just gives up. I'm sure it's Destiny only, I've updated older games today without a problem. I hope we get a solution soon.

3 different PS3 consoles, 2 distinct Internet providers and no luck getting update after several hours. 1st gen PS3 has been going for about 4h with ~2-1/2h remaining at 70% (fingers crossed). Possible that Sony is (at least partly) to blame -- same errors trying to update Playstation Store or Netflix (22MB). Bah!
