PS3 2.0 update download error
Most likely a large amount of you PS3 players like me have received error code 80710723. Bump so bungie can see

Edit 4: already got a bungie employees reply but now up to 100+ replies. Keep it up people they need to see we are not happy on playstation 3 and we deserve to enjoy to content like the rest of the gaming community
Edit 5: bungie these numbers are rising and Sony seems to be perfectly fine. Please take responsibility for the fact that your enterprise was not ready first off to allow this many people to download such a large update with very little servers to support it. I would recommend you communicate with your community and with Sony to fix these issues. You have a lot of unhappy customers
Edit 6: bungie stop throwing the blame at Sony please we all know you guys are to blame for this. I was able to update my dark souls without any issues, you need to get this fixed

I'm still getting the error 80710723, it's been 2 days with countless attempts, I have never gotten past %17. I really want to update. I love this game why can I not update!

You guys at bungie do realize that ps3 we can't download in background, pause download, or download in standby mode.... so you put out a dlc thats 8.6g that has to run flawless to complete a download this is bs

Just did an online chat with playstation tech support... They again blamed it on Bungie and referred me back to these forums lol... FYI... I deleted my game and downloaded it again from psn... It downloads fine with no interruptions... However it still requires the non working patch lol... For $80 (again)... You could at least lube me up first.

Update on what I said earlier. For kicks I downloaded the digital versions of God of War Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta which came with the purchase of The God of War Saga to see if it was a problem on PlayStation's side. They both downloaded successfully. It was obvious from the start that the problem is with Bungie but I just wanted to see if PlayStation had some blame also. I downloaded those using wireless. I then wired my PS3 and tried to download the Destiny update again. I still could not get past 5%. Bungie should have fixed the problem by now, they have had ample time to do so. This is totally unacceptable. I do not know what else to do at this point. They should just send out discs to everyone.

It's clear that there still a problem here that is not being solved, what are you doing Bungie? Clearly it's not PS problem because the error should happen in most of the download of games/demos/etc but they can be downloaded normally, the only thing with the error is the new patch. Also there are a lot of users having the same issue but you still doing nothing and just giving the same answer to each one, that also is useless. At least they read the messages. 1 ReplyBeen getting a network media shutdown error... thingie... I don't know what it is, what it means or what I can do but nothing seems to work right anymore after trying to update the game and getting this error mid download.

I have tried downloading 8 times now, all 8 times say about 59 mins left at 30% when I get to 87% it says an error has occurred and that I have lost internet. I reset my router, tested my network and everything to ensure it is not me who is losing internet, I am now at 31% with 58 mins remaining... I hope this goes through or I don't know if I will be playing destiny anymore....

I agree that a large update would take some time, but the company should have an excellent handle on the number of people they expect will be downloading the game since the download is initialized by entering the game--it is a required download. Since they have (or should have) a good handle of the numbers they should be prepared to provide their services in an acceptable manner. They have certainly made enough money to properly outfit their system to accommodate the transfer of data. Since it is commonplace for these companies to be tight-lipped about what the problem is and leave their customers hanging, it breeds a lot of contempt (what have you done for me lately). Since the update is required, the game will be unplayable until the transfer of data is completed. It's not like one can stop the update and just play the game in yesterday's version. The replies that have been offered by Bungie so far (in my perusals) are extremely basic and border on insulting. Yes, things will go awry, but if they would be more forthcoming as to why there are problems and what they are doing to resolve the problems. The problems are affecting different console systems; affecting some customers but not others; costing customers money and increasing customers' disillusionment in the ability of Bungie (and other similar companies) to provide a trusting service. The website creates the illusion that the company is being operated by the customers' peers, but, in reality, that's not true or they would be more forthcoming on the details of the problem du jour and what they are doing to resolve the matter. The game is unplayable until the problem is resolved; if data traffic is overloading the process then they haven't invested as much in their system as their customers have in their product...and that is sad for everyone. Being older helps...I'm 56...but it doesn't excuse the company from poor service.

After hours of failed attempts, being passed on from Sony and back to Bungie, left with no option so I've cancelled my pre order with Game in the UK and I've given up. I tried again but was left with a 6000min plus download estimate and another error code after 1%. I'm gutted because I really enjoyed playing Destiny the past seven months, it's a fantastic game. Really looking forward to the changes patch 2.0 would bring and playing Taken King. If I knew the patch was on the upcoming disc i cancelled then I would've probably waited but i don't know this.

Everyone, don't panic. I kept trying yesterday and got nothing but the error code. today I had no problem, but I kept a [i]very[/i] close eye on the download. One of the solutions I'd try is connecting through a wired connection. Less errors happen on a wired connection. This is what i did: Try reseting both your console and router, then turn them back on. [i]And this is important;[/i] make sure that no other devices are are interfering with your bandwidth speed. Basically: turn off all wireless devices in the house that use your wireless connection except for your ps3 and router. Just be patient, Guardians. You'll get it soon.

6 Replies8611mb for a update is non senses. The ps3 update download is awful maybe the worst thing ever. This should be download as normal thing. i cant not pause it and if the file just stop for no reason i'll have to start over. Im really mad and frustrated right now. If is possible to download the update from PC? because i'll never play Destiny again with the horrible update download system from PS3

Um not having error code problems but I spent nearly 7 hours downloading update an when I get past title screen it says "problem reading game content" so deleted an spent same time re updating just to get the same problem after it finish. How do I fix this please?

Happened to me twice now Update: it worked finally! I used google DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.8.4 and wired my PS3 directly to the router. Also downloaded from options menu not in destiny app itself. Hope this helps

Got download error, restarted. After 4 hrs had @ 85%, slowed to a crawl. Went to bed, 7 hrs later @ 87%. Could not play. Will have to restart download after work. Ordered early from sony. Was to get extra gear, for early purchase. Didnt get anything for early purchase. If I cant download it within 2 hrs give me a disk for a faster download, or refund me my money, THIS IS NOT A REQUEST.

TO ALL : Mine has finally downloaded after waiting all yesterday and this morning. It seems PS4 usuers had the priority download over all other consoles. Due to the amount of traffic between bungie, microsoft, and sony severes many of us experienced slow downloads or simply couldnt download. If you still have issues with 80710723, 800233EF, or Ce362449, i would suggest giving your system a reset and some thinking time then try again. Many of my friends who were in this position have also downloaded the update. TO BUNGIE: 1. Get stronger severs to anticipate further issues from larger updates in the future. 2. Work with corresponding companies to ensure everyone is ready for the large amounts of data being downloaded. 3. DONT PLAY THE BLAME GAME!

I have successfully downloaded the update. Struggled with it all night. This morning just changed to a new DNS Server and it finished just fine. But now so far I can't melee enemies. Otherwise it freezes my ps3

7 RepliesConstantly getting this error code Ce362449 That's been nearly 20 hours now! Download starts and gets to 20meg and restarts then comes up download failed! This is on ps4 with a 30mb connection! Now deleted the full game and it's made no difference. At a loss as what do next!
