Is there any reason to play the next Iron Banner?
I love ToO because of the smaller teams and the tighter communication.
Iron Banner has always been something I forced myself through, just to get the gear rewards. And it seems like every month, Iron Banner lag gets worse and worse. Last month, at least twice a day, I and everyone in my friend list, simultaneously experienced Xbox live downage for 10 minutes at a time.
With TTK releasing soon, and all pre-TTK legendary gear being stuck at Year One levels, I'm not even seeing a point to playing Iron Banner this time around. I don't see the worth in subjecting myself to the lagfest that Iron Banner has slowly turned into.
Do any of you plan to still play? Why? Do you think there's a chance they might make this next IB's gear be TTK gear?
Edit: I decided I'm still gonna play for the rewards because Bungie can never make up their mind about these things. There's gonna be enough vault space to justify holding on to gear with hopes that they may change their minds.

Im not too stoked on it now that we know any weapon or armor we're receiving will be pointless. They should honestly make rank 5 a year 2 weapon being so close and all. It could tease us a bit as well. Ill run around with NLB since all the scrubs are gonna come play.

1 ReplyI love ToO too, but I'm getting ever more averse to IB. First, and I have no idea why because technically it's still just 6v6 control, but IB is always more laggy than regular crucible. I mean by a lot. Then, it's where the try-hards are going to be (just like ToO) except because of the more players and how the mode is played it brings out the worst (for me) that pvp has. Two minutes into the game and it's super galore; on small maps I can't even focus because of the mayhem (sometimes I feel if I picked up a shotty and blink and just closed my eyes and start mashing buttons I'd get more kills); blink everywhere (gives me headaches, really); TLW/Thorn/sniper shotties for days; then up comes heavy - triple mayhem. ToO otoh is just as competitive if not more, but more paced, where everything you do counts and you have to think strategically instead of moshing around the crowd with blink and a shotty in your hand. Rant over. So.. about your question - they must really have some sweet loot for every next IB or I'll pass like the last one.

No, unless they sell a gun you've been wanting to -blam!- around with or I guess if you're not 34 yet that's still important to get ranked up before TTK. If you're like me and a lot of people here you've had everything for awhile. No you don't have to do it, it'll be brutal and you'll hate every second of it.
